Hello, OP, have you bought the car? It's a good buy to suite your luxurious taste, but take note that the car is low, and not suitable if the road that leads to your residence is bad, if your road terrain is good, then go for it.

Carbon buildup isn't an issue as long as you rev out the car regularly. Besides, you can always get it cleaned out, I believe.

What should be a determine factor is not the road to your street alone but the route you will be plying daily. I drove one from Ajah to Ogba area on Sunday and I had to park on the road because the street we were going to was full with potholes....I mean deep potholes that can destroy the bumper on just that particular trip. Am not a fan of parking on the road though but I had no choice. Thought it was a sport front bumper and not the regular one so it's super low to the ground....

I don't see the argument of trying to use a luxury car and people expect it to still be cheap on fuel...once you zero your mind that you want to use V6 upwards just be prepared.

Another thing is if you are a family man, the car is a NO NO for you or you go out with geng geng geng....Generally our roads and not good and with so much weight on a very low car....if you reach some road, you fit tell your family or friends make them come down first...make them come meet you for front.

But generally is a superb car if you take away our bad roads.

IS 250 is the most unreliable brand among all 2008 to 2012 lexus brands. The GS is better, ES is very reliable and RX is top notch for reliability.
The reasons why IS 250 and 350 aren't as reliable as other Lexus brands of that generation is because it has more sophisticated electronic components, fragile EPS and Low ground clearance which apparently makes IS not to be good in flooded roads. Some 08/12 IS 350 models comes with elecronic paddle shifters which cost a fortune to fix when they go bad as well as the EPS. This makes IS 250/ 350 visit the workshop more often compared to other Lexus brands.

Mind you the IS 250/350 aren't bad cars as they remain Lexus flagship compact sport sedans with good performance.. They are fun to drive but they may require more maintenance compared to GS,ES and RX which are more common.

Anyone who own an IS, GS and can't/don't drive them like he stole them once a while on long journeys, should sell off those cars before it becomes a liability to them.

Thanks boss but which Lexus is now a good buy for a first timer cause I realized the IS250 is more fuel efficient than the es330.


And the worst part is I am torn between it and the 2009 Camry SE v6 cause I hear the i4 burns oil
