Does Xiaomi Smartphones Offer Better Value For Money? by cabsco(m): 8:58am On Jun 02, 2020 |
Xiaomi is one of the brands that have succeeded in capturing a lot of market share within a short period of time with their mobile phones. Xiaomi is not quite new considering the fact that it was established in 2010, but the tech-focus company is one of the companies that struggled to make a solid establishment in the global market compared to other major brands like Samsung and Sony. It is a Chinese company that initially focus on China market, by producing and marketing its tech products exclusively in China. But as time goes by, it widened its range of operation by expanding to other Asia market, including India, and later to Europe and South America. In 2015, the firm announced its entering into the Africa market with the launch of Redmi 2 and Mi 4 in South Africa. Fast forward to 2020, Xiaomi has now become a recognized brand in most of the African countries, including in Nigeria, Kenya, and Ghana. It's also dominating India and some part of the European markets - thanks to their cheap Android phones. But the question remains, does their phones offer better value for money? Xiaomi rarely use cheap outdated hardware in their mobile phones irrespective of the price - hence the reason for their success. Moreover, they offer timely updates, something you can't expect from other brands that are competing within the same low - mid range market. 8 Likes |

Ellizsandra:Xiaomi has used MTK in the past with the Redmi Note 4x, but due to the problems encountered they decided to stick with Snapdragon. Ever since the Helio G90T proved it's worth last year, they're taking another shot at MTK devices, albeit on the lower end. The unannounced SoCs have yet to been benchmarked to see how they compare against their Snapdragon counterpart. Till then, we'll wait for their announcement or launch. 6 Likes |

OP, yes Xiaomi offers value for money mostly on the Redmi lineup. The Mi high-end series meant for EU, US and China are priced quite highly even then, they're full fledged flagship experience. 4 Likes |

nightbuzzer:You obviously don't know anything about SOC's Imagine comparing new generation chipsets to the old and outdated ones that Transsion (Infinix, Tecno & Itel) uses on their device. Mind you this chipsets were used by Xiaomi for their budget devices. Redmi 9 with Helio G70 will out perform Infinix Note 7 and it will also be cheaper. You people should keep dashing Transsion your money in exchange for substandard phones. 11 Likes |

Alfred234:Don't mind them They are comparing transsion mtk chips that have been outdated since 2015 against Xiaomis mtk latest chip of 2020 Shows how far and how low these marketers will go to just to defend their masters. Mumu marketers. 8 Likes |

edoairways: It's because Mediatek finally stepped up their game with the G series SoC, the G90T launched last year is why they are having this resurgence. The Redmi Note 8 Pro was an amazing performer and OEMs are giving MTK a shot. Realme as well are using MTK G series SoC. The Realme 6i comes with a Helio G80 and the Realme 5i comes with a Helio G70. Both SoCs were launched this year and compete properly with the SD66x series. Given that, Mediatek is going really strong with the Dimensity series SoC and they're quite cheaper than their Snapdragon counterparts in the midrange due to the included 5G modems. Major OEMs shied away from MTK because they were inefficient and poor performers in the past. They're better now and are properly competing price-performance with Kirin, Exynos and Snapdragon. 6 Likes 1 Share |

If anything, you guys supporting tecno should actually tell your masters to use the latest chip from mtk since they like them so much Instead, you attack another company for innovating Shame on you for your poor choice of actions 4 Likes |
