Despite the fact that Nigerians suffer untold hardships, it appears they are not bothered much about their condition. It looks like they are comfortable with the status quo. They depend on the ideology of adaptation; even when the situation deteroriates to critical levels. The reason behind my statement is due to my belief that the NONSENSE Nigerians tolerate from their rulers cannot be tolerated in most countries outside. Taking Tunisia as the latest case, the arab country was dissatisfied with the fact that the old incompetent politicans were still in charge of government, and this has lead to severe protests and stike action raging on for days now, and these angry protests seems to be paying off. But Nigerians who are facing a similar problem of recycled leaders have chosen to sit back and watch from the scums. Besides what the Tunisians are violently protesting is a lesser problem when compared with the high incidence of corruption and selfishness on the part of Nigeria's ruling class. In other words, if Nigerians can't protest corrupt leadership, how then will they protest the recycling of old incompetent leaders?

Now taking the comparison to europe and else where, I expect most of us to remember the recent violent protests in greece due to economic issues. But greece has a better economy than Nigeria, and Nigerians are still quiet over the shambled state of their economy. Also consider the violent protests which took place in Iran last year as a result of the rigged elections, but Nigerians tolerated a rigged presidential election conducted in 2007. In Japan last year, I don't recall how many times the prime minister was changed. In fact the prime ministers had to resign themselves cos they know what to expect from the Japanese public when they sit tight while their performance is low. But in Nigeria, Bad leaders will sit tight for 10 years and not a single person appears on streets. In America, I don't think the situation has to get 2% as bad as Nigeria's situation before the American public will furiously burst out to the streets.

It's quite a pity that Nigerians are tolerating what the rest of the world wouldn't. If our consistent voices on the streets will make an impact, why relax rather than confront? But, OOOPS!!! I just remembered something, and that's the attitude of the kind of police and army we have. With our kind of security personnels, If 100 million Nigerians match to the streets violently, I guess only 1000 may return home alive. I now understand the fears of Nigerians. Is that the excuse? I think the Nigerian masses are bigger arss holes themselves than the leaders they condem cos they have been spectators watching ugly events unfold.

WAKE UP O COMPATRIOTS!

when we have more than 10 churches on every road. Pastors spreading the word and the masses looking forward to the next life in imaginary Heaven. So we don't need a revolution grin

Religion has taken away our senses rather than restoring it. It has made Nigerians to keep hoping for a divine intervention which is never forthcoming.

This is why it is said that religion is a good tool to control people. The masses would rather go those massive church conventions and pray for change. rather than start a demonstration against the Govt.

Imagine muslims and christians killing each other in Jos why can't they just march to Aso Rock and sacrifice their lives for better cause?

Could it be that those pastors are praying behind the scenes for the Nigerian situation to get worse so they can attract more members and grow their congregation/bank accounts? lol. Anyway, I think the Aboki spirit of violence will be very useful if channelled to the right direction; which is towards the incompetent government. Maybe someone has to draw a cartoon showing our politicians beating up prophet mohammad.

There's absolutely NO country in the world that will go through 1/50th of what Nigerians have gone through without it bursting into flames! Kasala for don burst tey tey. The trick is the elite have taken it upon themselves to ensure that the masses are not educated about their civil and constitutional rights; that's the only way the have Nigerians eternally under their reign. Nigerians are so gullible about their rights, its unbelievable. Or, how else do you explain citizens JUSTIFYING extra-judicial killing, and physical assaults, of civilians by the police and other security forces? I've seen that happen in various discussions on NL. Its sad, and until the populace takes the country back from these crooks, Nigerians are in for a very long, and rough ride.

Religion and lack of patriotism are the main problems in case of nigeria.
our living standards are next to abysmal level. Our economy is going nowhere inspite of phony data showing strong growth ,thereby creating an artificial illusion among people that one day we will get of this mess and this is aided by pastors promising better life and prosperity by praying .

For a nation which cannot conduct a proper census which is the most fundamental thing in any sane country .How do u expect the world to take us seriously?
Everything about this country is wrong and need to be radically overhauled.
