On 30th May, Biafrans arrived at late General Effiongs country home. In a brief ceremony, they played the Biafran anthem, raised the Biafran flag and said a prayer the traditional way using libation(those who speak Ibibio can tell us what was said)

After that, they met briefly with Effiongs wife who thanked them for coming.

General Philip Effiong was the Vice President of the defunct Republic of Biafra and its last President.

So now I'm just thinking...
The hoisting of the flag, has it been happening yearly or its just this year. N what's its significance? Is it to recall back his surrender.

I'm only expressing my skepticism n I'm a half umuahia ibeku by birth (just incase my questions are misunderstood to mean tribal bigotry)

The present administration and its 40 thieves who are deaf and dumb to the glaring deliberate ethno-religious bigotry and marginalization in every facet of it's make-up, has never proven the Effiongs/Biafran agitators more right.

All these will be done with in tops, 3 years from now. And of course, the one who stands at the fore-front of this massive unprecedented ethnic and religious divide in the country's annals won't live forever.

So, let's hope that when the tables are turned, there wouldn't be any more grumblings but for everyone to suck it up and wait for their turn to continue the shameless system.
