For your information, before Xiaomi even launched in Nigeria last year, they had already had a great following on Nairaland. What happened when they launched? They didn't even recognise this thread but instead recognised and rewarded some Twitter influencers.

Did that stop Nairalanders from using Xiaomi? No, and that's because we enjoy their products and don't need to be paid to convince other people to taste something good.
