@poster
guinea corn and millet are two very different seeds oh
while guine corn (dawa) has two types it can be red or white, it looks like very tiny pebbles
millet (gero) on the other hand is more grey greenish in colour and almost 5 times smaller than dawa
have fun

Oh bless you!!, toyemz, any ideas abt how to cook millet as a porridge?(e.g like oats?), its supposed to be very good for high cholesterol and such so really want to start using it, thanks,

@jovi
sorry am just seeing this
well back to topic

here goes
1.pound or ground gero to break up the seeds into pieces
2.sieve to remove the chuff
3.soak gero over night pls don't use hot water( as this will make the overall come black)
4.wash out the soaked water with fresh clean water
5.spread out in tray and leave out in sun to dry for a day
6.add black gloves,ginger,small yaji and other spices
and ground into powder
7.sieve again to get rid of any unwanted chuff
8.dry to get the flour completely dry
the over all final result will be a highly scent dry greyish powder that will keep for months on end
whenever you want to make a porridge all you have to do is take some and make it into a paste as you would do for ogi
cook with hot water add sugar and pronto its ready
enjoy oh
