ACN presents Tinubu's wife as Senetorial candidate. His daughter and son-in law were

also presented as ACN house of Representative candidates. Tinubu was believed to have

imposed them on ACN against ACN party members wish. No real voting primaries were

conducted. Many other qualified ACN aspirants are not happy but the party leaders have

told them secretly that there is noting they could do about it. Tinubu has always make people

Indeed . The ACN still remains a far better option than the PDP and in that respect one must hope it gains more prominence at the expense of the PDP . Nonetheless,  its prominent members must impress the need for greater internal democract on Tinubu. I have not been impressed with Tinubu's recent conduct or Akande's undemocratic talk about imposition of candidates . it is one thing for a candidate to emerge unopposed but something else totally to support imposing a candidate on your Party if other popular and porven candidates are bullied out of the way. OBJ became a master of such tactics to the detriment of the PDP and , ultimately , Nigeria.

@Gbawe: Yep. I'm not really interested in seeing the ACN destroyed; ultimately it is the best vehicle for us to achieve our objectives. I just want to see it reformed.

Anyway, it isn't as if all ACN folk approve of Tinubu's highhanded ways. Probably even a majority are against it. But there isn't much they can do right now, I guess. He who pays the piper calls the tune

They are . Tinubu has found it hard to get his way. Tinubu is resisted well in the ACN even if PDP apologist and GEJ fans want to speak otherwise to bolster their arguement that the ACN is no better than the PDP. One thing some folks don't understand is that Tinubu can be 'beaten back' if protests is severe and passionate . I know this first hand , as per having family members who are ACN candidates , but I won't go into details regarding specifics. Suffice to say that Tinubu is no OBJ . He is regularly 'overwhelmed' by progressive agitations. It is easier to concieve the ACN becoming stronger as per institutionally entrenched tenets than the PDP. Not a fan of Tinubu at all but he is not a consumate dictator. He makes concessions for the greater good even if , like any other Nigerian politician , he loves to get his ways . Folks should not doubt that Tinubu is an old school politician given to all the 'usual arrangement' practices that keeps his palms greased. Nonetheless he still has an eye on a great and resurgent SW region to that extent he is not an enemy of or afraid to include others who have their own minds and ideas . This is why his style is to generally back proven performers and decent folks (Fashola, Fayemi, Aregbesola, Oshiomhole, et al) even if he will then make demands on them. In an imperfect world , that is better than OBJ who is to be found only ever supporting the most ruinous hands out of sheer wickedness and vengefulness.

Very true, Fashola will probably be freer in the coming years when he has no third term to look forward to and some other fresher face with less alliance to Tinubu will surface, they'll probably still need him to come out of the woods but i see some people getting bigger collectively than tinubu is the coming years, in naija politics you cant be a kingmaker forever. . .
