Pawpaw is a fruit Botanically known as papaya grows virtually everywhere within the face of the earth probably due to its ability to survive in every climate.
The unripe ones contains vitaminK. Antibacterial and healing properties are also seen in them. The wound healing property seen in unripe pawpaw is mainly attributed to papain and chymopapain, these are the enzymes that exert an ulcer protective effect. Papain also digests necrotic tissue and prevents wound infections.
Hence the juice obtained from fermentation of green unripe pawpaw is very effective in the treatment of ulcer.
