Please this is a serious issue
I want to hear from God. I want to hear God speak to me in person
I have heard countless, countless times where people say they heard from God.
Most pastors i listen to outrightly say they heard him AUDIBLY speaking in a small soft voice!
I want God to speak to me too, Audibly too

What do i have to do?
Do i have to fast and pray? For how long? 1week? 1month?
When i pray do i tell God to speak to me?
Please anyone that knows what to do to hear from God please tell me
I'm not even going to start doubting that God speaks to people audibly otherwise i wont even be opening this thread

hi to wish to hear from God is a good thing
don't mind a lot of people who say god spoke audibly in their ear
mind you not that God does not do so but it might not be as rampant as a lot of people claim

first thing first. let's not put the cart before the horse. are you born again? what do i mean by born again? have your felt remorse over your disobedience to his love and rejection of his son jesus and turned your life around. do you still tell lies, steal, or do any of those things. if the answer is yes then you need to get on your knees before God, tell him you're sorry for disobeying him, ask him to forgive you, and accept jesus into your heart. when that has been done, you now have the right to seek constant communication from God. after all it's only a member of the family that has right to attend the family meeting no?

now that being said
God speaks in myriad ways
audibly, in your thoughts, through his word the bible, even through your instincts e.g when you have a "feeling" not to go somewhere and it turns out that you were right or a "feeling" that someone is not being truthful and you were right.
even your desire to hear from god is a way of him tugging at your heart strings to want to move closer to Him.
now the practical ways
remain in his presence. what do i mean pray to him everyday when you finish praying. wait in silence for about 15 minutes with your heart on him and he might just break into your thoughts and talk to you in your heart. after all prayer is a two way conversation. after you talk your own. you'll wait to hear from HIM no?
Read His word constantly. memorize it. i found out that if the Lord has something to say to me especially if i am faced with a difficult decision, suddenly a scripture will flash into my mind which addresses that situation perfectly.
talk to experienced and Godly men. God still speaks through his people. their advice may just be God telling you what to do. especially after you too have prayed about such advice and feel peace in your heart.
He can speak in your dreams. since you want to hear from Him, while you are waiting, record your dreams. don't ignore them but don't magnify them above God either, but just look at them as another communication network i.e even if in your mind, the dream is negative, nothing is beyond the power of God to deliver. He may have already started talking to you without your knowing it.

these are just a few examples of how God communicates.

Remember that God is not an ATM machine where you press a few buttons and voila your blessings come rushing out. e.g press the fasting and prayer button and your breakthrough comes through the slot. just keep loving HIM first, walking in his ways, don't worrry about finding HIM, HE will find you;after all , He knows where you live.

Which God? Is it the christian one? Or the Muslim One ? Or the Hindu one? As at the last count UNESCO counted about 4500 Gods out there being worshiped and prayed to by various groups. I would just guess you are probably interested in the christian one. Some claim if you starve yourself (fasting) enough your blood sugar level will come down enough that you will start seeing things and hearing voices More seriously, what people call " hearing God" is just intuition! period! You are in charge of your life . Take control! Dont wait for any voice. Your 'God' is within you. I wish you well.

Be careful of what you hear. It may all just be in your head.

The only way to hear from God is to obey His commands and maintain ur soul by reading His word(The Bible).
Then mark out days to stay alone with Him dedicating that day for prayer and feeding of ur soul with his word.
Then finally meditate always.
Use these step with Faith it works.
