The Health Minister, Tawfiq al-Rabiah has made it official that about 1000 pilgrims across the world will be allowed to witness the upcoming Pilgrimage which is slated to hold next month, July.



In a bid to keep maintaining social distancing, Saudia Arabia will only allow about 100 pilgrims who are below 65 and with no chronic disease.

The Health Minister said:

“The number of pilgrims will be around 1,000, maybe less, maybe a little more,” Hajj Minister Mohammad Benten told reporters. “The number won’t be in tens or hundreds of thousands” this year.

The hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and is mandatory once in a lifetime for all Muslims provided they are physically fit and financially capable.

Hajj Minister told Reporters:

“The number won’t be in tens or hundreds of thousands” this year, he added.

From what we learnt, The annual event will be held at the end of July and the category of people that will be allowed are the ones below 65 years of age with no serious chronic disease.
