This price war between the GSM companies is becoming very fierce & something else o cool. Glo has to be more innovative and less reactionary sha undecided

Anyway, dem nor get choice but to drop the prices of their modem when MTN's is going for N5,500. I expect Etisalat and Zain to also follow suit. Still, I'm interested in knowing whether their modems are 7.2mbps or 3.6mbps cos if it's the former I just might be tempted to get one wink

MTN's modem has been selling for N5,500 since last year December. You could have easily bought theirs & unlocked it too and given your n95 8gb rest abi the extra N500 too much for you? undecided grin

well the main difference is portability. . . . . e.g when NEPA do their usual thing u can only browse as long as ur phone batry can last wink
Another thing is(. . . and this from experience) phone generally becomes weak and not as durable like b4 (though also seriously depends on how much u stress the phone. . .lol)
Again. . . .there will only be a diference if d phone has a higher modem capability e.g say hsdpa of 7.2mbps or 10mbps compare to a normal modem of 3.6mbps undecided
Cheers

Re: Hurray Glo Modem Now #5000 by semid4lyfe(m): 2:09pm On Feb 01, 2011
There is a big difference between using a modem to browse and phone as modem to browse with pc.

You get faster browsing and downloading speeds with a modem (even if it's a 3.6mbps modem) . .at least that what's I've experienced using a N95 before and now using a fastlink modem. Also using your phone as modem makes it very hot, weakens it and affects it's strength & durability. If you're using joikuspot or bluetooth, your phone may occasionally switch OFF by itsef too.

Guy, leave story and go get a modem jare wink

well said wink

@et al
a modem is made to work as a modm while phones are mainly for calls and texting with modem-funtions as an adjunct,. . . . . so that should tell u that a modem is far far and by far beta dan using a fone
cheers
