Just lately i came across a post on nairaland stating that one needs to study computer science in the university to be a good programmer. but my question is do i really need to study computer science to be a web developer?. I don't really want to know a damn about algorithm and data structure,i just want to focus on web development.. your opinion will be appreciated.thanks seun javanian lalasticlala mynd44 |

udoekere:The knowledge of computing science gives you a solid rock background as a coder but it is not a necessity. Web dev is a small part of computing science that needs some small part of theory to get down with it. Many successful web developer have little knowledge of computation. Same way a lot of people work in the banking sector without certification on banking and finance. It depends on what you mean by web developer. Do you mean front end development. Because if you are interested in back end, though you may not need a university degree of any discipline, you sure need algorithms and data structures. Think about functionalities like searching and sorting; how will you handle it, especially considering time complexity and so on. |

udoekere:google and Facebook and some other highly intensive website uses heavy algorithm plus server services to ensure they deliver quality services. Like google search algorithms and ranking algorithms. It need someone with quality experience to do that |

If you're good in tweaks you can visit utorrent site for Premium Udemy Video about any language. You must be ready to spend a lot on data unless u have free internet.
