Count your loss and move on.
Nigerian police wouldn't help in this situation.. you will spend more than you lost..

We have all passed through this in one way or the other.. the best is to forget it and move on
I know it is a bitter pill to swallow

You said it all, him go to SARS of police State Command with his IMEI number as soon as possible, Police would get his phone back, he won't even spend up 10k,
10k? Says who? My colleague track his phone with #21,000

Very bitter pill indeed

If he was abroad now he could have waived the payment

But every seemingly good offer in Nigeria is a Greek gift to lure unsuspecting offerees into a contract that doesn't benefit them in the long run
sure bro..
Even in abroad if them wire your money and you quickly file fraud claim. You will be compensated... I'm 100% sure of the bolded

But concerning OP's matter, the best is make him forget about it and find way to husle money and payback.. that is it

God this is why I avoided anything like that when they were offering such services to me.

What if it got stolen, spoilt or damaged kept replaying in my brain.
Then I will be paying for a phone in the hands of a thief

paying phone in the hand of a thief that wired comment ever hard

as long as phone doesn't have inbuilt tracking app it would be impossible to track such phone ,Chinese phone manufacturers will never build tracker app on the phone. Sony keeps coming back for another phone

And there's no assurance that he will recover his phone. Even though he recovers it will it be in good condition? He should just pay off the loan. Everything is a lesson
he is supposed to report to the company/easybuy that the phone has been stolen....they are in the best possible position to trace that phone

it's done by the agent in charge of it it's a physical process. the agent will be with you telling you what to say because the konga Will call you through their phone.. the cut it shot everything is done in their store.

process as fellow. your name address. how much you earn a month. what type of job u do self employed work under someone. u need guarantor to stand for u . and will pay part payment that use to be 15k after that verified you that will give you the phone. expect you to pay in your month time

he didn't buy the phone with cash. it was buy and pay later with konga easybuy scheme

he will pay 50 to 55k to konga. now every month he pay 10k until the money is completed. for phone u didn't use it painful pay debt u didn't enjoy. I just tried to clam him down
boss, you keep mentioning paying without using the phone like it is the fault of EASYBUY. So, if he had paid completely, the loss won't be painful?
That is one of the disadvantages of phone loan.

May God grant to phone loser the blessings to pay up the loan and get another.

Is it possible to catch the thief?
Yes. A friend's phone was stolen late last year and he reported to the police. The upcoming thief didn't turn on the phone for over a month plus, but when he finally did, the police nabbed him grin grin.

The thief confessed that he wanted the user to give up on tracing it before he can start using it. grin

I don't use a Xiaomi phone. But I think there should be Guest and User Mode Options on it.
