Y'all are deceiving yourselves with these "say no to cyber crime" memes. undecided
The cyber criminals and crimes did not just sprout and start scamming out of nowhere; our broken homes, social system, societal chronic poverty, and structure as a Nation, produced them. These guys are fruits of the trees planted over several years ago, even before they were born.

We cannot change a fruit by attacking it; we change the fruit by healing the tree (that produce the fruits) of its infections and by killing the termites eating its trunk and roots.

Until Nigeria begins her journey towards redemption, with good education system, battling chronic poverty in many households, removing evil politicians from public offices, crime will NEVER stop. Do we even know the percentage of Nigerian universities' students online "hustling"? Do we know the number of young people whose Nigeria and being born as a Nigerian had forced into internet scamming? If you like, condemn scammers from now till next year, nothing will change!!

Nigeria is not ready!! Nigeria is a evil country! The rate of scammers has not skyrocketed. We all should wait till 2030, and see how endemic fraud and corruption would have become and associated with Nigeria and being Nigerians.
Goodluck to all of you!

The biggest fear of drug cartels is extradition into the United States.

The notorious Pablo Escobar once said "better to be in a Colombia grave than a USA cell"

Bye bye hushpuppi, Sha help us greet Farouk Abdulmuttalab.
i thought i was the only one that watched narcos.. pablo fought so hard against extradition and kind of succeeded.. after his death and the attack on medelline cartel.. the cali cartel unintentionally brought back extradition when they started trading cocaine through pablo route.. they push drugs in the night and call themselves businessmen in the day.. and gave themselves 6months to push all they want...that 6 months ended the calli cartel... when i heard hush has been extradited.. he should forget... cos in the first place if there was no concrete evidence they wouldnt extradite him.. so for you all thinking hushpuppi has a chance maybe you should wake up.. we should be discussing the amount of years he is gonna spend in prison...

There's always an irresistible urge to flaunt and misbehave; inherent of sudden wealth, especially when it's stolen.
When your wealth builds gradually and it's moderately proportional to your effort, there won't be any reason to brag or misbehave. But if you start getting sudden huge incomes, far more than your age, especially when you didn't deserve it or sweat for it. The feeling is always overwhelming and there is likelihood of you misbehaving. That's the reason why scammers flaunt their wealth. The urge is irresistible, except for the wise ones who control their emotions and learn to lie low.
During the course of flaunting, especially persistent flaunting, they expose themselves and leave behind trails of their criminal activities.

Do you still remember Dan Owolo of Covenant University?
I mean this shiit always repeat itself over and over and over. Perhaps a regular staff who earned around N100k.
Suddenly, he started getting over N10m with no extra effort. Why didn't he lie low? The feeling and urge is always overwhelmingly. It's extremely euphoric, you only come back to your senses after casting yourself.

If you've always had under N100k in your account, but suddenly you hit a mysterious 'jackpot' of N1m this evening. I can assure you that later in the evening when you come to NL to post or comment, the anatomy of your post would be quiet different. You suddenly start talking like a god. There is a sudden shoot in your hormones, it's a high, it's overwhelmingly. Only people with self-control can handle it.
Ironically, the thrill is even multiplied when you got the 'jackpot' in a dirty-smart way. You feel like James Bond.

Another reason is, scammers in the days when they were still small scammers or when they were still legit, they freely drop their details, because at that time, no one is really tracking their asses. Later when they become big scammers, they forget to erase all their trails they left years ago. It might even be impossible to remember everywhere you've dropped your trails.
Take Invictus for example. When he was still a small legit guy on NL, he dropped his email freely here. Later in life, he became something else and used same email for his fraudulent activities.
This shiit happens to everyone on Social Media. Most Social Media users have trails online.
That poor legit boy dropping his number/email freely on Social Media today, because no one is after him yet, might still use the same email to cast himself years to come.
if this write up is from you, then you are 100% intelligent... tbh

Won't happen but las las hush done chop money, flex life, lived lavish, flown choppers, flown private, had the most exotic cars, mingled with celebs obtained connections, became a known international brand.

No jail can take that away from him, if he comes out of prison he will be better than most poor Nigerians because he has a platform, he has connections, he has experience, he is known and so on. He won't be starting from square 1

He can write a bestseller book, be a TV host, sing music people will buy, sell his story to American media companies, work for security organisations abroad etc

Most Nigerians live in houses worst than American prisons me typing this have not seen electricity in 42 hours straight, I paid aboki 50 bucks to charge my phone, American prisons have 24/7 electricity, gym, free TV, free laundry services, free phone calls and free food that is why black Americans even the celebs see jail as an achievement as street cred status bringer

how many haven't been to jail? you tell me as we speak many US celebs are in jail including Steven Spielberg's daughter, R Kelly, Da baby etc
Even Robert Downey Jr, Lil Kim, tommy Lee, Mark Wahlberg have all been to U.S prison
Their prison is not like our own many come out of jail looking better than they did before they went in.

Those quoting me will chose 10 - 15 years in American prison and a lifetime of living lavish for themselves and their family without thinking twice over being a poor Nigerian from birth to death.

Ask yourself what odds hushpuppi had of being as rich as he was without doing what he did? We all know majority of Nigerians will be born into poverty and will die in poverty but we all want to delude ourselves by thinking "I will be the one to make it" niggger that's what the other 100,000,000 dead Nigerians before you thought, you think every poor Nigerian chose to be poor? or they don't know your God or another one is "if he didn't do crime he would be enjoying by now!" Nigguh enjoying what exactly

Simple question please how many Nigerian lawyers do you know richer than or even half as rich as Hushpuppi? Even the celebs how many of them where as rich as hush? Only the very top 1%

Another quick question? Ask them how many years and how much suffering, and how much connections etc it took them to get that degree and then that position and if the pay for those without connection is adequate, do the same for every other profession except clergy and politicians

And decide for yourself what chance the vast majority of Nigerians have of becoming millionaires or even hundred thousandnaires ?

I'm not encouraging crime please don't do crime but let us be realistic in our thoughts and speech

I thought if you go to school you must be rich until I was in a slum and a woman told me she did her youth service in taraba, I was surprised I was like wtf excuse me, she said yes she served in.... She didn't know I was thinking shocked thinking to myself "how did you go to school for 17+ years only to end up in this slum in this poverty" I assumed everyone in slums where uneducated never do wells, miscreants etc.

Imagine if she, like most young girls were compelled to sleep with lecturers for grades, or sorted to pass and all that thinking riches were ahead of them upon graduation only to end up in a slum without husband and children hey this isn't fiction this lady was quarrelling with another non educated woman the other day I recorded what the women were using to insult her. At least a good number of people on this thread have broken it down easily for anyone sane to comprehend just in case you want to jump on the "Hushpuppi was loud" train.

You can't be quiet. You can never be. Money will push you. You will unknowingly have friends that will advertise you. The case of Efe Martic (Hushpuppi called him Neighbour), Woodberry. It is lowkey reported that Woodberry had more funds than Hush.

Money dey push o

But in the end, our leaders have our balls in their hands and no, we are still cowards to look in that direction.

See. If you make money as a Nigerian after hustling all your life, it is still not enough to save your family after you are gone. The system in Nigeria is ready to 'rubbish' your sweat even if it is legit.

Wonder why the Politicians and the Wealthy people with big businesses continously push for more money even when it seems like they have enough? They know how it works in this part of the world.

The whites can comfortably donate a huge part of their life savings to Charity because of their country's standard of living, at least they don't live like savages like we do here. The ones who end up wayward probably got lost in Gambling, Drugs.

Until we stand up against our real oppressors, we will continue to deserve what we get. Nigeria is modern day's ANIMAL FARM and it is so obvious. Hustle non stop with little to show for.

Peace, someday.
Forgive me my child if I ever fail you, but till then.
I will never fail my children by birthing them into this mistake of a country. I'll rather die childless

It's not a tip o. It's almost the beginning and the end of the game. In fraud, you can never use your identity. All those wires that Hushpuppi was receiving are opened with stolen identities. They've opened several accounts in some people's names without their knowledge. If you read the 26-page USOA paper released yday, it reveals how dumb hushpuppi was cos he was using his phone numbers to communicate with his conspirators. All these normal telephone services can be decrypted. No pro fraudster does that.

- Our thinking has been distorted. If we have good Govt, that's what they need to fix first. How much do you need to live a good life? A Professor, Doctor, Lawyer does not need to be as rich as Hushpuppi but they need to be comfortable. Let's leave Nigeria and go to advanced countries that we worship. How many Americans are as rich as Hushpuppi? How many American Lawyers are as rich as Hushpuppi? How many Americans have Ferrari like Hushpuppi?
- About their Prison that the article said it's better, well Hushpuppi may come out gay and be psychologically messed up for life.
- Going to school does not make you wealthy but should make you comfortable. That's what we are fighting our Govt for. If Ng system is good today, not everybody will still have a car. If you want to be wealthy, think of how you can solve problems with what you learnt in school. The more values you add, the wealthier you are. At least if you go to school, there must a guaranty of a comfortable life. A small car, good accommodation, you can afford to pay your bills. Not Ferrari or mansion.
- This same bad country, I know several youths in different states making an average of $3k per month on YouTube and several other legit online businesses. It took some 5yrs before they reach there. Can you fly a private jet with that? No. Can you buy a Ferrari with that? No. Can you drink expensive champagne with that? no. But, the average present Nigerian youths can never be patient for 5 yrs to learn and follow the process. I told a group of youth to learn some Java Android and Objective C so that they can be building apps. The first thing they asked was how long will it take them to make good money. I told them it may take 2yrs of learning and maybe 8 yrs of consistent creating. I said they will be making token along the way to make them live a simple life but may not hit big until after 10 yrs. I said they will keep launching different apps to solve people's problem. Along the line, luck may shine on them and they will build an app that the whole world will be crazy about. They all run away. This is a group of 18, 19, 20 yrs old. Why are our youths running to music instead of coding? Why do they want to be IG influencer or comedian on IG instead of splitting up cars and coupling it back? Easy routes.
