They didn’t decrypt it, just run The btc address on a btc explorer and you see all the transactions. I just did now and funds are still there except the ones he had already moved elsewhere.

Blockchain is an online wallet, not safe. The safest wallet to store bitcoin is in hardware wallet because only you has the private key. I store my btc securely in a hardware wallet and I carry it around sometimes. Specifically, I use Ledger Nano S and even if I misplace the hardware, I can simply buy another Ledger and restore my btc with my private key which I stored in many places.

With data mining, FBI agents will use certain tools to unravel all the bitcoin addresses in Nigeria. They are all in the cloud and data mining will unravel every user - by matching it with their transaction IDs and email addresses. you are right but without the phones manufacturer giving access to their icloud, they can't have anything. Apple manufactured iPhones and the FBI would have gotten warrant to access their I cloud. without a third party influence. they wouldn't have done that.. all apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter etc have. back end that programmers can accessed. also whenever you make use internet, you are gonna leave footprints behind. there are no two ways to that.. use the internet and leave traces behind.. and all your activities are stored on the database of the webpage servers.. that is normal. if you wanna be off tracking.. don't use the internet.. and don't post,comment or take pictures..
remembered money heists. when the professor data couldn't be found kos he had no internet history.. also the phones he used are analog ones (1st generation of phones kos they can't be tracked.. no GPS and any triangulation done with telecommunications mast can only see areas the phones are but can't pinpoint where it's unlike Android or iOS phones..
