Alleged corruption: EFCC invites ex-Gov Muazu

By Emma Ovuakporie
ABUJA—The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC, has invited former Governor of Bauchi Adamu Muazu to appear before its operatives to answer questions on fresh alleged corruption charges.

It was reliably gathered that the former governor had to clear himself before the operatives or he would be re-arraigned by the anti-graft agency.

The anti-graft body had two weeks  ago issued a statement denying media reports that the ex-governor was never at anytime cleared by the it as reported in some dailies.

The EFCC in the statement issued and signed by the anti-graft agency’s spokesman, Mr Femi Babafemi debunked reports that suggest that the body had concluded investigation on the corruption charges against the former governor and found nothing against him.

The anti-graft body said it has to issue the clarification as a response to persistent enquiries coming from members of the press and the general public on its alleged clearance given to Muazu.

“We wish to state emphatically that ex-governor Adamu Muazu is still being investigated and as such could not have been cleared of graft allegations against him.

“The former governor who until recently has been out of the country is still expected to honour an invitation to interview a team of operatives investigating the case against him”, the statement added.

While urging the media to always cross check their information through the open communication channel provided by the Commission, it further explained that none of its officials has been mandated under any guise to speak on a case that is yet to be concluded.

Spokesman of the commission, Mr Femi Babafemi confirmed that the ex-governor has been invited to appear on Thursday

Shey it was anenih that was in-charge of the Lagos - Benin road.

The devil is a big thief, and is responsible for countless lives lost on that road, he must be held accountable.

The safest place for thief or a murderer to be in Nigeria is a ministerial position or similar. In that place one is immune from wiles and sanctions of the Law and the good people of Nigeria.

It is better for the GEJ to surround himself with crooks as i believe no sane person or with integrity in tact will want associate with men or women non existent morals.

i am sure BEAF, Johndoe, Nsiman, and the rest of Jonathan's forty thieves will not come to this thread to defend their man!

Alams is ten times better than GEJ.

Any development seen in Bayelsa today was done by Alams.

Re: Suspected Treasury Looter appointed by Pres. Jonathan by Nobody: 5:28pm On Feb 03, 2011
everybody should expect more of this kind of stuff. After PDP primaries GEJ owes ALOT of people favors NATIONWIDE.

I personally know one PDP guy who delivered for GEJ but that guys state governor ignored GEJ's order to adopt the guy for house of reps. After he told GEJ about it GEJ told him not to worry that he has a post for him.

Well although I do not support Goodluck, I can say that during his tenure Muazu was one of the most effective Governor. He left a lot of Infrastructure and was very religious tolerant, which was one  reason he was not re-elected for the senate(the said he respected the "arines" more than his "elders"wink.  The Efcc was probably after him because the current governor had petition before them against him, am not saying he is a saint but since he left Bauchi state the current governor has left no basic infrastructure and you all know the security suituation.
Re: Suspected Treasury Looter appointed by Pres. Jonathan by naso2(m): 5:40pm On Feb 03, 2011
People and the way they reason. Muazu was one of the shinning lights when he was governor. I do not understand how an EFCC invitee automatically becomes convicted.

Is tinubu holier than Muazu?

Re: Suspected Treasury Looter appointed by Pres. Jonathan by Rhino5dm: 7:54pm On Feb 03, 2011
with all due respect! mauzu is one of the finest among the  govornors Nigeria will ever produced.

Look joke aside, this is the best decision GEJ has ever taken as per appointment on merit. Even thuogh no Nigeria politician can be free from traces curroption but Muazu is exceptionanlly mild.  project/curroption ratio.

goto Bauchi and see for yourself and stop reading what that slowpoke called Isa Yuguda sponsored on media.

GEJ no matter who gave you that advice meant well for you.
With this consider the bulk of votes from Bauchi.

Once again RIP Isa fu.c.k.i, ng. yuguda.   SAI BAYAN BAKKA SUKE!
