Glue on what basis? I can only understand that what makes one to keep follow following someone even when he's being hurt is Akpiri.[/b][/i]

Not really, I think btw the three major tribes in Nigeria, the Yoruba's are the most liberal and accommodating. Igbos? Not so much. Hausa's? Not so much either.
Yoruba's side with both Igbo's and Hausa's, it's probably the only reason we haven't fought another war.

Alkaline and Base again..... Maybe you aren't a Scientist.

Well, you know what i meant lol.

We can still be good friends, good neighbors and all that, you know Nigeria is not working and had failed u and me, yet no hope in sight, so why keep glueing the whole system.

Some section of the country want out, support them and let them go, u can continue with the remaining part.

Your people in East is not serious and didn't believe in one Nigeria, they hardly invest in landed property because in the back of their minds they know that one day Nigeria will divide, only Igbos are being blind with this fact.

You are wrong, willfully or otherwise.

You said some section want out of Nigeria, are the Yorubas stopping them?

Did the Yorubas scuttle your pro-Biafra protest March in 2015/16?

How exactly are the Yoruba people stopping you?

You kill each other in the east for small plots of land. Is that when you will now sell land to an outsider?

Yorubas don't believe in one Nigeria yet keep appointing Igbos into cabinet, voting them into state houses of representatives in Yorubaland, sell land to foreigners no matter from which part of the country you hail from.

But all you guys do is mock the Yorubas for selling their lands to you, an indication that you do not reciprocate this gesture back in your region.

Like I said earlier, people don't value what they are enjoying until they lose it.

Soon...

Re: Olu Falae: Yoruba Is The Glue Holding Nigeria Together by Nobody: 10:46am On Jul 14, 2020
The Elderstate man is wrong by saying Yoruba is the glue by holding this country together...i believe the major glue that holds this country together is the crude oil from Niger-delta...just imagine there is no monthly Federal allocation from the federal government...there wouldn't be any reason to co-exist....
Fulani people could have gone their separate ways if the oil boom was from their region but they know that with the oil money, the people of Niger-delta will buy all their land and enslave all their children... So they need to use this facade and pseudo unity of purpose to hamstring the region that is enriched in both natural and human resources...and not until we tell ourselves the truth the generation yet unborn will keep suffering from the effect of this pseudo oneness and unity of the nation.....
So, Yoruba is not the glue that joins us together, it's the crude oil from Niger-delta region..

Nope, I am not... I was merely being elaborate and addressing your attempt at dodging realities.

You're obviously confused. How have I dodged reality? Am I the one claiming Yoruba was selfish for voting against Jonathan in 2015? Were you not the one that dodged reality by shifting goal post after I gave you an insight on why Yoruba voted against Jonathan in 2015. You're a joker.

However, since you asked, enlighten me on 2019!!!

Before this, we need to reverse back to 2011. Remember Yoruba voted massively for Jonathan, despite the fact that most notable SW politicians are in ACN, yet they worked to see Jonathan in government. How? Remember Ribadu was presented by ACN back then, this was done to spite Buhari, and break down his votes, just to see Jonathan win.

Back then, Yoruba had interest if Buhari were to win in 2011, he was having a Yoruba VP as running mate, same with Ribadu too. Only Jonathan had a northerner as running mate, thereby PDP doesn't even offer SW much compared to the other two. Yet still, SW voted massively against their own sons running as VP in the other parties. This was borne out of the campaign strategy Jonathan engaged in. He was able to buy everyone's pity with his "I had no shoes" mantra. We thought he was the Messiah and we voted for him irrespective of whether we have a stake in the government or not.

2015 came. His scheming out of South West was obvious. We don't have SW as President or VP or Senate President or HoR speaker. We were obviously out. But that's not even as worse as the obvious corruption in his government. You can't deny this. He fell below expectations and Buhari came with his anti corruption mantra, together with our son as VP, if you were in our shoes, you'd definitely vote for Buhari. I lie? We wanted a better Nigeria, and we thought Buhari would bring that, with our son with him, it's only obvious that that's even a bonus mark for us.

2019 came, Buhari fell below par. We'd justified that it's only natural for him to struggle in an attempt to balance what PDP had crumbled for 16years. 4 years wasn't enough, that was what we thought. And the alternative, being Atiku was no different from an average corrupt politicians in the country. He fumbled even more when he said he'd sell off some federal asset. Plus also the fact that politics is a game of interest. SW had more interest in APC than in PDP, and we thought Buhari would live beyond expectations of the staggered first term, unfortunately, he's gone beyond miserable since the beginning of his second tenure.

So we should be thanking the Yorubas now abi?... All these ethnic politics is why we're struggling to move forward. For God sake how has it benefitted the majority of Nigerians!? Why do our leaders like shoving this "unity pill" down our throats like we're suppose to be grateful that we're united inspite of their shoddy attempts at leadership. Which is a huge factor as to why our unity is on a shaky foundation in the first place. I'm just tired of this shit, aren't we all? I guess not sad

True to some extent but Yoruba's meticulousness and deep thought in making decision have been misconstrued for weakness, compromise and timidity.
Exactly!
Sometimes ago, one idiot from the North, was ranting about Yoruba's cowardice and 'hypocrisy'!
I challenged him to prove it to me, but the goat just kept bleating and screaming he wouldn't recant... I just ignored him!

I hate to sound like an ethnic jingoist, but the facts are bare...

Obasanjo superintended the end of the civil war.

Joint Yoruba non-violent Doggedness chased IBB into "stepping aside".

IBB had no option than forge an ING headed by a Yorubaman.

The same doggedness paved way for an all-yoruba contest to run the nation in 1999!

These are very recent facts, I could do a harvest of the past if anyone cares.
