Copied From Quora

I have been studying Islam for several years now and not for one moment have I ever wished that I would follow any other religion. Also, forgive me for not sounding humble, I have been blessed with a pretty good understanding of the world, people and Islam.

One of the things that other religions in general miss out and the advanced world seems to have forgotten is that nothing in this world is created without a purpose. Your life is not a play-field. You are here for a purpose. Islam clearly identifies this purpose as worship of The One Who Created Us. People are biased against Islam saying it provokes war, instills terror etc. But that is not what Islam is all about. Thats not what the Quran or Prophet Muhammed's life was about at all. Islam establishes a way of life, urging you to do good in this world.

How many questions here on Quora have been about "Karma is a ..."? well that's a clear sign of what Islam talks about. It talks about being good in this life coz once this life is done, there is gonna be a day, a day where justice will be done for every single action that we have taken. People on Quora here are educated and understand the corporate lifestyle. Well you must have seen that everything that you do in the office is recorded to be used either against you or to reward you. The same is the case with life as well. and that is what Islam is about. In your corporate world you have your HR policies you need to abide by failing which you are taken to task in some way or the other. the same applies for the Life as well. The Quran is the book of guidance on how to behave in this world. On how to carry yourself. On how to glorify the one who created you and how to be grateful for your existence.

Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) is the person every muslim takes as his or her role model. He is the person who has shown the world what true piety is and what being true to the God is. There can be no one like him neither before nor after. All muslims know and firmly believe him to be the greatest man who ever lived and the person with the best character and manners. His existence gives us an example of how to live life on this world in the best possible way.

While I am writing this answer, there is a lot of debate going on in the news about Dr. Zakir Naik and what he does. and several questions were asked about him on Quora as well. And I remember one such question where the person asked for more details on him and a reply was something like "he is that person who has memorized the Quran and some fancy snippets from other religious books and tries to draw comparisons etc". Personally I don’t subscribe much to Dr. Zakir Naik but the amount of response that particular answer got made me think. Thats exactly whats rampant in Quora and other media platforms as well and reflects in the hypocrisy of the modern society. People take fancy snippets from the Quran, misinterpret them out of context and blow them out of proportions trying to defame Islam.

Islam is a religion which is pure. It gives you mental satisfaction during every walk of your life.

Every trouble you go through, Islam gives you strength to go on promising a reward once this life is over.

Every time you were the victim of injustice, of oppression (and i am not talking about large scenarios like Syria or something but even the smallest possible thing like bias your faculty shows towards his or her favourite students or even less) you can choose to remain patient knowing that your reward is with God.

Life is unfair to you, the world is filled with corruption and crimes. Islam gives you peace that there is a Greater Power watching everything and will soon give you justice.

and there are several more scenarios I can name

You have lived so many years in this world and are going to remain for just a finite number of years. Once that is gone, then what?. Don't you expect some justice to take place? It will. Islam gives you that hope. That sense of peace that whatever good that you do, you will be rewarded, be it removing a stone from the roads. And also simultaneously puts a fear in your heart that whatever wrong you do, be it something as trivial as insulting a person, you will have to answer for it.

However none of this makes any sense if there is no God right? well there is a God. you feel Him in everything. you see His trace in everyone. you hear Him in your heart and fear Him as well. It's His mercy that's reflected in us when we show kindness to each other. His beauty that we see when we see the nature. He exists. beyond doubt. Just look at everything of nature. look at the sky and the universe. do you see any imperfections in the sky? in the universe. how everything is going about so perfectly. We humans can't even design an engine that can work without imperfections.

And just One God who doesn't need any sort of supporting Gods to carry out the affairs of the heaven and earth. This is what Islam believes in. God is the one who is going to ensure justice. He is going to do it one day. One day everyone will answer for their deeds, good or bad, TO HIM.

Just think.... for one moment, leaving all your prejudice, your beliefs, your religious inclinations, leave everything... and just reflect on your life, the things that you have done... and that The Mightiest of All is going to make you stand in front of him and question you about it. No recommendations, no corruption, no bullying, nothing is going to work against Him. .... Just think of yourself in that position. Are you ready?

If not then why not? Millions die every day. It could easily be you tomorrow. It will be you one day.

So you asked my perception of Islam, and I have given you my view. Instead of commenting something stupid, put yourself in my shoes and have my view for a minute. Perhaps you might understand what I am talking about. and if you can't then well it's your call. But don't expect me to answer ridiculous questions about Islam and Allah and my beloved Prophet(PBUH) in the comments. I am one of those who thinks and writes. not writes and thinks.
