Mobile browsing started with stock browsers on our old featured phones. Later we got third party browsers like Opera Mini, Bolt and UC.

We are currently in the age of powerful smartphones that are capable of running Web browsers like Chrome, Safari and Mozilla Firefox.

Is usage of Opera Mini going down? Going by data of monthly visitors on my site recently, Chrome has the highest number and Opera Mini seats second. 5 years ago Opera Mini has the highest number and nearly 10x more than the second browser Chrome.

Do you still use Opera Mini? Do you find how it removes fancy animations and other heavy stuff from Web pages you visit on your phone helpful ?

My best browser for Nairaland actually. Since the site has no fancy designs.

I loved opera so much that I optimized my site to work smoothly on the browser.

I love Opera mini, especially the older versions
Very simple layout, though less and less sites support them now.
But as long as nairaland supports it, I'll keep using it.
The UI is old school, sleek and user friendly. No annoying pop up ads and widgets
I have been using opera mini since I bought my first phone (2011)

I still use it. I dedicate Opera Mini and Airtel for nairaland. I put Opera app on my home screen so it is just easy navigation... Apart from using it to access Nairaland, I hate it... Chrome better

Anyone using opera at this age is far behind since the app suffers when it comes to rendering some high-end websites.

Chrome remains the best, and the synchronization makes it easy to switch between accounts and devices without losing my work.

Re: Opera Mini: Anyone [left]? by Adewale1603(m): 9:14pm On Jul 22, 2020
To say the truth, chrome is a powerful browser on its own, chrome is more secured and better for highend tasks, than opera. opera is a mid range web browser just good at optimizing, compressing data, opera saves data
