Most people think professional HR certifications are tools for financial gains.

Perhaps you might be wrong here.

For instance, if you have your name inscribed in some fancy credential placed on your wall, shouldn’t you automatically be happy to have earned it? Does the amount paid for earning this credential bother you?

At times, the answer may be yes and no.

But remember, the efforts made and money spent is not just for the certification. It is for the value a person can bring to the organization when they have what the industry requires i.e. skills.

The road ahead

In the transitional move happening due to the emergence of new technologies and innovation, the HR function has seen an increased transformation in the way business functions. Not to mention, the workforce now requires people with newer skillsets.

In short, this trend is moving toward a different perspective. The current industry requires the workforce to work in more than one function as compared to how it used to be a decade back. Earning multiple certification courses in HR is generally considered as a good way for human resource professionals to grow in their career.

A research conducted by PayScale says, 34 percent of the respondents who took part in the survey having HR job titles were reported to have at least one HR certification. Further on, an analysis was made about how these HR certifications can impact an HR’s career. As a result, HR certifications had a major role to play when it comes to seeking better positions and earning lucrative salary packages.

A glance at how HR certifications can help in career progression

HR certifications play a major role when it comes to seeking better opportunities and a higher pay scale. You can have a look at the details below and analyze the rate of probability in being promoted and the chances of a better salary.

• With certification – 20.1 percent

• With certification – 9.1 percent

Should you get certified?

As seen, HR professionals having one or more than one certification are likely to receive promotions much faster than non-certified professionals.
If you’re looking to achieve better jobs and higher salary compensation, you need to enroll yourself in one of the best HR certification programs. Becoming certified provides additional knowledge and skills the industry seeks to hire. It also sends a message to your employers justifying the credibility of your skills.

HR certifications prove you have a good knowledge base and that you’re a potential fit for their organization. When seeking HR jobs, you may find that most companies will prefer a candidate having certification. You can also use this as leverage to negotiate a higher salary.

You might have a great HR job, but perhaps it’s high time for that promotion you’ve been waiting for so long. An HR certificationis one way to demonstrate your skills and move up the HR career. Do not miss this opportunity.

Moving further, not all industries view the job of an HR professional as crucial for business functions. However, you will find certain industries that pay well, while certification holders showed the highest percentage boost in salary compensation.

Healthcare, retail and customer service, accommodation and food services, transportation and warehousing, education, arts, entertainment, and recreation, construction, finance and insurance, manufacturing, energy, and utilities, etc. are some of the industries that pay lucrative packages to HR professionals.
