On the 9th of April, history would be made in our dear country Nigeria. This is because one or two of the following scenario would play out.
1. A candidate from an ethnic minority would be elected as president. A first.
2. A ruling party would hand over the reigns of government to the opposition. A first.
3. A free and fair presidential election would be conducted and the result announced. A first.
4. So much money is expended on an election conducted by an umpire with so much credibility, yet the result is the worst ever in the country.
Now, which of these scenario would you prefer? In my heart, I would prefer 1 & 3 for the following reason:
1. I am from an ethnic minority tribe.
2. The northern oligarch would come to realize that power belongs to the people and not to a ruling class, ethnic group or religion.
But in my head, I would prefer 2 & 3 for the following reasons
1. GEJ is soo, Compromised right now that he can hardly lift a finger without taking permission from those that are actually responsible for our present situation ( poverty, unemployment, corruption, etc) in the first place. Everybody is now scrambling for his/her share of the national cake. Recently, even Atiku who lost woefully in the primaries and refuse to congratulate the winner till date was calling for dialogue (i.e give me my share).
It therefore means that choosing 1 & 3, we would have more of the same while 2 & 3 would bring some semblance of responsibility to the country. 4 would bring

pdp has done a lot for nigeria but now is the time to try other parties.
nigeria cannot afford to be a one party system country.
