Praise be to Allah.

Shaykh, ‘Abd ar-Rahmaan al-Barraak (may Allah preserve him) and he said: Yes, they come under the same ruling as other gatherings, so when they end, they should be concluded by reciting the du‘aa’ known as “expiation for the gathering (Kaffaaratul-majlis).”

The wife of the Prophet, Aishah (Radi Allahu anha) said: “Allah’s Messenger (Sallal laahoo alaihi wassallam) did not sit in a gathering, and did not recite the Qur’an, and did not perform any prayer without concluding by saying…

(then she quoted the dua given below).”

Subhaanaka Allaahumma wa bihamdika, ‘ash-hadu ‘an laa ‘ilaaha ‘illaa ‘Anta, ‘astaghfiruka wa ‘atoobu ‘ilayk

“Glory is to You, O Allah, and praise is to You. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but You. I seek Your forgiveness and repent to You.”
