Costly Mistake: I Almost Lost My Phone by Ofiagu(m): 8:10pm On Aug 07, 2020
Carelessly, I kept my Tecno Droipad on top of my car and drove for about five killometers before remembering that my phone was on top of the car.

When I stopped, I knew not from where to start looking for my phone. Anger overwhelmed me. I blamed my self bitterly, for this avoidable mistake. “But what was I thinking about self…?” I asked myself.

I have never attacked myself like that before. But it happens spontaneously.

I went to Airtel store so they can help me on a missing phone that rings when called but which is not being answered by the person in possession of it. Airtel declined, insisting I go to the DSS, Or EFCC, or the Police CID…

I went to the police headquarters. I was told it's too early to track a missing phone, that the ideal period to begin tracking a missing phone is after two weeks…

Based on my insistence, an effort was made and my phone was returned to me.

Thanks to God.

Kudos to the police (the NPF).

Appreciation to the good Samaritan who picked my phone and kindly returned it to me freely.

There are still good people in Nigeria who are God fearing and who follow moral codes.

How much is your phone that you will call what happened a costly mistake?

Like I always say, don't judge an entire country/people by the actions of the few bad eggs. They are good people in Nigeria but good deeds have a very dim limelight but the reverse is louder than Angel Gabriel's trumpet.

You have to wait for atleast two weeks or a month before tracking a lost/stolen phone if you are expecting any tangible result.

If you lose your phone, all hope is not lost.

As long as you have the phone pack and the imel code, you can track it with the Nigerian Police. At least, they are good in that aspect. I'm a living testimony!

But you'll pay sha, I think I paid #10,000 in my case.

I was even ready to pay #100,000 provided it's found. Imagine losing lots of footages and files belonging to clients.

They will sue my company lol!
