Humans always look for people to blame for their shortcomings. But, like always, they blame the registered 'bad dog' simply because they fear what will happen if they assign responsibility of the owner of said 'bad dog'.
Everyone blames Satan for everything. It's easy to do. The responsibility must always pass to someone else.
But Satan did not create us, God did. And we were perfectly made, body and soul. Yes, we did disobey God and we have been determined to do things our way since then. Laws guide interaction among us, but these laws can evolve.
Once upon a time, there was the 'old testament'. Now there is a 'new' one. If scripture has God saying he will write His Laws in our hearts, who says there isn't a 'newer' testament being drafted.
Anyway, I digress.

We keep saying fornication is a sin before God. There are other sins: lying, stealing, murder etc but somehow we focus on sex. Why? Have we not been told not to judge others? Can we just let God do the judging? Or have we realized that He has so much mercy and just does not care about such things anymore, so we would love to act in His place (usurpation of His authority)?

Yes, everyone wants to be relevant so they go about quoting whatever scripture seems to feed into their message. Allow God to do the judging. Read your scripture, yes. Do what it says, yes. But keep your opinions about who and who are sinners to yourself. If need be, pray for them to change. If you absolutely must, feel free to engage such persons in conversations. but don't come here and be judging people or spouting your opinion on sin, regardless of if it is popular or not.
