While a missed period is a good sign that a woman might be pregnant, certain other signs can signify pregnancy. Pregnancy occurs when an egg is fertilized and implants in the wall of the uterus. This happens before you miss your period. The implantation of the fertilized egg can cause several changes in the body, which are good signs of pregnancy.

These signs may start as early as some days or weeks after conception, which is likely to be before your menstrual date. However, most of these signs are not glaring enough for expectant mothers to notice, or perhaps they do not recognize them as signs of pregnancy.

This article is written to call your attention to common signs of pregnancy before a missed period.

It is, however, important to mention that a pregnancy test is the most accurate sign that you are pregnant. As such, if you notice any of these signs while you are expecting, it is essential to go for a pregnancy test.

19 Early Pregnancy Symptoms Before a Missed Period

1. Cramps

Menstrual cramps are a common sign of early pregnancy. During the first week of pregnancy, you may experience mild or light cramping. While these cramps are similar to the ones you experience during your periods, they are often experienced in the lower back or/and lower back at the early stage of pregnancy.

2. Elevated Basal Body Temperature

Another accurate sign of early pregnancy is basal body temperature. To notice this, you must have been monitoring your temperature prior to your ovulation. During your period, your body temperature increases and come back to normal after you are through with the period. If you have conceived, your body temperature will remain high throughout.
