LAGOS, (ASCOLOGY NEWS) - Contrary to growing rumours suggesting rising star Tiwa Savage is credited alongside Fantasia for co-writing Fantasia Barrino’s Collard Greens & Cornbread track on Fantasia’s “Back 2 Me” album, we can authoritatively confirm that such reports are highly untrue and she's not a Grammy nominee (officially or unofficially).



First-off, we love Tiwa Savage and will root for her (or any other African artist for that matter) anyday anytime as a nominee; but at this moment would to quell such untrue rumours circulating in the Nigerian media as unfounded and highly misleading.

Ascology.com was together with our official partners live at the Grammy Awards where we covered live images of the Red Carpet event and award proper including the Pre-Grammy Gala to honour legend Barbra Streisand & other tribute ceremonies.

Her name was not only conspiciously missing from the paperworks presented to us by award organisers but also missing from the official list presented by 19 Recordings, J Records, S Records or any other record/production label officially affiliated with singer Fantasia to the award organisers.

Circumstances such as award category, record label(s) choice, artist choice, organisers award policies etc are vital yardsticks in giving credits. However in the case of our beloved Tiwa Savage, none of the factual circumstances falls into place to get her a nod.

Typical instances are illustrated in situations such as the Best Rap Song which credits ALL production, record and publishing companies alongside the artists; Best Musical Show Album which credits producers, composers, lyricists & production companies.

Let's remind you again that Fela Anikulapo Kuti was credited with a nomination for best composer & lyricist in the Best Musical Show Album category for the film FELA! but was scooped away by the producer of 'American Idiot' (Featuring Green Day) & thier co-creditors. It would have been fantastic if FELA! had won the award as the lyricists & composers of 'American Idiot' were not offered an award due to illegibility and other discrepancies

We advise fast rising talented singer Tiwa Savage not to be carried away by cheap, desperate and attention seeking people lying behind the farcade of well-wishers and/or stakeholders in the entertainment industry.
