After my NYSC, apart from FRSC job online(just once) and one other Civil Service online recruitment job, I just face my fashion design. The truth is, the way they conduct interviews in Nigeria especially the stories I read here....hmmm. I get one kind yeye temper, if u talk anyhow I go just insult you waka commot. Shey lori one kobo? Mine was years ago . I say make I try my luck for FIRS. Woke up that morning, carried my everly arranged and gallant CV , bath, dressed up and headed straight to a FIRS branch at Lagos. Back then person wey dey work for inland revenue service na big boy just like Chevron. As I entered the gate, I saw two angry looking security coming my way . They were like "bros who you dey find". Me that I don't even know who I was looking for I didn't even know what to say. Then one of them shouted "pls get out". As a Nigerian graduate wey naturally get ego , I told them to talk to me politely and stop shouting. They even started pushing me , I felt like the ground should swallow me. One sexy chick was passing by (obviously working there ) approached the scene to know what was going on. She told me to pass a call to whoever invited me , I said okay and pretended to go outside to make the call. I jejely walked back home in shame.

Second was months after that incidence, I got a job as a gateman in a firm. Never had I been so embarassed in my life. Customers talking to you anyhow like you're shìt. Infact they see gatemen as lowlives. Infact I used to wear facecap and dark shades just incase I bump into any of my old classmate. I just dey imagine one of my old time coursemate driving in in a sleek car and me wey be gateman open gate for am lol.. well imagination later turn reality. It happened for real. Thank God for my dark shades and face cap but it wasn't enough. . I hid my face when I noticed he started staring at me like he knew me from somewhere.

Thank God for today, ventured into business. Things aren't rosy but as long as God is on the throne, there is hope.

I was so desperate to land a job.

I had to go to Brothel in my area to submit my application for a receptionist.

The olosho manager told me that am not qualified for the job. Last last I was told go home and come back next week.

I have never searched for job before.
I left Secondary school, two good jobs were offered to me that same year.
My dad rejected them and told me to wait for my Uni admission.
Next offer came, I insisted that I must take the job.
I did.
I was doing the job when I got admission and I refused to quit the job. I combined it with my school.
Thanks to the good boss I had den who always put me on job schedule that will give me enough time for my school.
The job helped me financially. I was like a big boy in sch cos I was financially independent.
I put in like 16yrs in the job.
Later on, I got another 3 different jobs at different period all by recommendations.
Never searched for them.
Now, I am also an employer of labour.
So, I never experienced any embarrassing moment.
It is all not by my strength, but by the divine plan of God Almighty.

I was working at Chicken republic and I wanted to take a better step ahead so I applied for a driving job in one etisalat company
The pay was reasonable so I was tempted
They sent an address for the interview
When I got to the place, I met so many other guys there fully dressed with ironed sleeves and tie
For my mind shey na for driver work them dress like this ?
Anyway I wasn't dressing bad tho, I was putting on my usual sharp black trouser and and a very white t_shirt

We were all sitted in a mall and given a pen and a book to write on
I was now wondering what kinda interview is this sef
I asked one of the guys there

Me:guy no be driving work be this ?

Guy: omo na so me sef see am oo , I no know wetin concern exam and driving

They started asking questions and we tried to answer
One stupid question was asked

"WHEN YOU GET MONEY BY FALSE PRETENSE AND END UP BEING CAUGHT IN THE WEB , WHAT IS THAT ACT CALLED"

After the exam them collect our papers, I'm still wondering what has a driving job have to do with all those questions
Some of the guys were now saying , I wrote 5.8 I question 7
Some other said the answer is 7.4
I was just confused as if I'm the only different person there

They came back with the result sheets and started asking who wrote 419 or Yahoo

My wife even kicked against our Traditional marriage cos she saw it as a waste of money but I told her, it’s was normal.
The combined money we spent for all the court wedding, introductions and traditional marriage is just 70% less than of what my friend spent on is white wedding alone.

My Final interview with Head HR of Access bank .... I reduced my age by 5years on my CV. Then the interviewer started asking when I finished my Primary school, secondary school and at what age. I was speechless and felt so ashamed of myself. Since then, I no dey apply for bank job again.

.. Hahahahahaha.. Sounds more like scene from a comedy film.

There was a temp agency close to my residence that I sort of frequented but I always got the same response, "We have nothing available." I suspected that the reason they were unwilling to offer me a job was because of the color of my dark skin. One day I paid them a visit and saw the recruiter. As soon as he saw me, the guy bolted to a different spot. I arrived there and inquired of him. One of his colleagues told me he was absent. I knew he was lying because I had seen the guy earlier on, so I left. Upon getting home, I put a call to the agency and lo and behold, the same guy (who had disappeared upon sighting me) picked up the call. I berated him for running away when he spotted me and then hung up. Shouldnt have hung up on him though, but thank God that's history.
