Not really, They are not in profit, Airtel is in loss.
If Airtel leave (God Forbid) then It will be monopoly of MTN
No good service and more expensive plans.

KrazyDave16:

IMO, it looks like the ISP here are only interested in beating the competition in how much profits they make yearly instead of how many customers they can retain...

I use 1.5gb in 4 days, it's validity is 7days. It costs 300naira and I was thinking I'm lucky for using MTN

Sadly it's still the best deal available

The US got a far better business environment but data is still expensive.

India's working environment isn't exactly friendly, but data is cheap.

An average worker in the US earns more than workers in India but still India is still getting the better of it, down to the point a poor household can afford unlimited data and watch and download HDR content if they can, the US it's another story, with takeovers and ISP there trying to be monopolistic, which is what our country is copying.
US = Capitalism

Kinda related,
Both India and China keep their currency devaluated/undervalued (Careful Artificial Manipulation), By doing this you make Import Expensive and Export Lucrative for Industries. Real value is too much. They have some real Educated Economist.

You got it right, That is why i argues here with people, Its not the USD you earn, real thing is what is left at the end of month.

Pack of one Cholesterol reducing Drug is available in 3 USD in India the same drug you have to spend 68 USD in Oklahoma.

But here our Village brothers see ohh since they pay more in US so thats better.

Cost of production for ISPs in India and Nigeria are not the same

Also put in the lack of electricity and infrastructure in the country.Telecommunication companies here spend millions or even billions on disel everyday

The problem is directly proportional to the government not the ISP
Yeah, that is what most persons don't understand

Your country's export less than they import. The aforementioned countries produce more for export while ours don't. It is easy to get more foreign currency in their reserve than ours that keeps reducing

No good service and more expensive plans.

For starters, they should remove the cap on their unlimited data plans, increase the data volume to suit 4G and upcoming 5G instead of dishing out 3.5G data volumes, fix the abnormal data leaks - zapping - when downloading large files over 500MB with 4G (Airtel does this to me all the time) and overall be more transparent with their data plans.
If they do this, they'll survive and become competitive not just in Nigeria but also India since they're struggling to pay back the loan they owe the Indian government.

India has an installed capacity of 371,977 MW of electricity.
Population of India is 1.3 billion.
Population of Nigeria is 195 million.

From these stats, Nigeria needs at least an installed capacity of 53,900 Megawatts for a reasonable stable and constant power supply.

Currently we are swinging in between 5,000-7,000 megawatts. This is definitely poor.

The reason why MTN, Airtel and co have high prices for data is because they generate their own power.

The only underground I remember was at the last terminal. That was were we got train tickets to Ahmedabad (lots of vegan and non vegan food shops and sugar cane juice place too..) was an over night 13 hour journey

I deliberately wanted to experience India much more...

After I was done at Ahmedabad intook another bus to Bombay. The night bus had buses.

The return trip it was a 2 hours flight to "Deli".

Memorable days

Do you know how much it costs to deliver a baby in the US? Thousands of dollars. The USA is an expensive country. Don't try to compare India to the United States. The purchasing power are not in the same class.

Purchasing power aren't the same but India is dominating the US in some sectors, one of them being cheap health care, something the US "world-class" health can't properly provide. Do you even know that childbirth in Canada is actually free?

Unless you got a very good health insurance, have someone who's serving in the army (person must be alive and be in active duty) or have a black credit card, using American health care is the same as damning you and your family to a lifetime of debt if not careful.
