In the light of the various security threats facing the nation from all angles and in various forms ranging from but not limited to Boko haram and iswap in the north east, banditary and kidnappings in the north west,herder farmer clashes in the north central,cultism,militancy, robbery and kidnapping takes an unfortunate preeminences in the south.These attacks have made many widows, widowers orphans and internally displaced.

The natural response in the face of all this would be to look to our security personnels in union with elected officials to nip it in the bud but republic after republic government after government the security challenges remains unabated with the populace ever loosing faith in governments and security officials ability in terms of manpower and dexterity some go as far as questioning the willingness to effectively tame these leviathans considering that some of these crisis come in ethnic and religious colorations of which many argue arouses bias in the minds of those that should ensure societal decorum.

On this note a host of opinion leaders from both the traditional and religious circles have called for youths to rise up and defend her immediate territorial integrity, defend yourself they call it that is match them weapon for weapon massacre for massacre basically your proverbial kill or be killed, a call as it were to defend to land from any security breach to the death to send out a statement that nobody will come from without to run down your community atleast while they await the messianic state cum community police which will eradicate all our security challenges so they say.

How then can we marry this stance also held by christian leaders with the teachings of our lord Jesus Christ that hinges on love for God and humanity of which 1 corinthians 13 spells out its characteristics and If it doesn't allign where then do Christians draw the line between doctrinal compromise and outright insensitivity to people's plight?
