Several reasons sha but the three most foremost include:

1. Poor build quality: The camera module may be poorly built or improperly sealed and as such, air, vapour and dust could seep into the camera module and impair the sight of the lenses.

2. Poor material quality: the quality of the parts used in assembling the cameras.

3. Planned obsolescence: This is when faults are built into an equipment by the manufacturer causing it to deteriorating which forces the consumer to purchase another product.

Apple uses updates to slow down their own phones so that the phone lags and forces the owner to buy a new one. They've been sued several times for that. Even Samsung does it too.

An upgrade is not necessary degrading per sé. If you want to use the latest versions and enjoy improvements, you have to update and upgrade software and hardware when necessary.

However, not everyone cares about new tech or new updates. Some people just want a functional device.

But our people at silicon valley no wan hear.

Any Android below 4.4.2 is basically useless.

Anyone below 7.0 is highly limited.

Why do you think Transsion doesn't update their devices? Simple, to force you to buy the next one.

Even 7.0 sef go soon turn endangered species when Android 11 becomes a staple.
