I find it weird because most countries I've visited usually prefer their own sport leagues. For example , Lithuania is a basketball nation and they have their own basketball league( Lietuvos krepšinio lyga) which they enjoy . In fact, most people there are not versed with America's NBA league because they prefer their own league .
Most people in Brazil and Argentina prefer their own soccer league ,despite the fact they probably have some of their top stars in European league.
Most people in North America prefer American leagues. Even though soccer is not one of the most popular sports in the US, most North American soccer fans still prefer American soccer league and the stadiums are usually filled.

Why don't Nigerians like Nigerian soccer league, and what do you think can be done to improve so that it becomes a household league that Nigerians can enjoy and frequent ?

Your media house n media personnel re attributing factors,example can be found with our music industry.Have u heard of an italian media personnel being a fan of an english club side NEVER.

Firstly to reverse this trend make it more expensive to access foreign leagues n ensure sport journalist promote our league n u will see the wave of acceptance of the local league.

If the same concept that was put in place in the music industry of giving a 70/30% air time to local song against foreign music,am sure the acceptance of local musician will be as oppose what we obtain today.

The league is not package properly. For example English league every week they have a we’ll put together show that will show all the goals of the week in a good format to create interest.

English league grew because of tv it used to be like naija league.

Growing up Nigerian league fa cup was a big deal and ppl watched.

Clubs like leventis United, abiola babes iwanyawu nationals, bcc lions

I knew players from this clubs through tv.

So it needs tv repackaging and also stadium upgrade

I'm a football fan, and I follow the NPFL, but truth be told, our leaders aren't making the sport more enticing to the youths, if I'm right, billions are budgeted every year but almost 80% of it ends up being embezzled. Take a look at our stadiums for instance, a place where it's supposed to be an institution looks like a town hall, why would I be enticed to such a mediocre, 10billion naira projects looking like a 100million naira project.
