Please save my life, I don't want to die; this is the exact words of Raymond on sick bed. Raymond, an exciting personality, was my coursemate. Sobbing profusely, he narrated his precarious ordeal:
My name is Orepitan Raymond from Ogun State staying in Sagamu. I am a sickle cell patient, I had an accident towards the end of my study in Olabisi Onabanjo University ogun state. That was when my range of problems started. I underwent an hip replacement surgery in 2018 but couldn't afford d post surgical treatment. The inability to afford the post surgical treatment worsen the case and make one of my legs to start deteriorating. Likewise, the second leg has not been strong because I have to lean and overuse it for support. Consequently, I was earlier managed at OOU Teaching Hospital in sagamu but I have now been transferred to orthopedic hospital Igbobi Lagos. The doctors asked me to pay 5 million naira for rescheduled surgery or at least be sure of bringing 100 thousand naira (N100,000.00) per month for the maintainance of the leg if I don't want to die very soon. Meanwhile, all my family members have deserted and left me due to the present predicament. I can't walk let alone go to work because my femur bone is weak.
I humbly beg and solicit for your assistance. Anything you give me would be greatly appreciated. Nothing is too small, please help me to live again. My condition is getting worse.
