Nigerian Youths And Homeownership Dream During Covid-19 Era by jwon1: 2:12pm On Sep 02, 2020
Economy trends during this Covid-19 pandemic era has vividly proven the society imbalance in our country and across the world. We saw this across sectors such as Education, Health, Humanitarian etc. While some persons had a haven during the lockdown, most had it tough.

Another highlight is the housing deficit that has significantly increased in the country, an arguable number of 17 million house deficit, making homeownership a long-distance dream in Nigeria and most importantly among the youths.

This led to my partnership with NaijaPropertyZone (a real estate advisory hub), which provides the platform for me to safely advise forward thinking and smart young Nigerians on secure investment opportunities within the real estate industry.

Within a month, I raised an investment portfolio of over 20 million naira (direct) and 59 million naira (indirect), with a contribution of 45% by the female gender.

Lessons learned from these past months has made it clear that Nigerian youths are not "lazy", they are hardworking and mindful of what they invest into. Although, many Nigerian youths are still battling the myths of real estate investment, one must take into cognizance that access to genuine investment information is lacking. Trust and integrity also play a major role within this industry, many rely on the integrity of the person advising them or pitching the investment opportunity to them before investing their money.

In all, my fulfilment is that through this experience, I played a part in reducing the housing deficit in Nigeria and ultimately fulfil the homeownership dream of some young Nigerians.

To me, the goal is to help forward thinking young Nigerians make informed investment decisions and hence build a generational wealth culture, while remembering that a good person leaves an inheritance for their children's children.

My name is Oluwajuwon Obaniyi, youth prosperity is my passion and real estate investment is one of the secure vehicles to achieving that.
