He couldn't do kidnapping or robbery and thinks it's better to deal in weeds that gives aforementioned morale boost to scatter everywhere.

Hmm.

This government lacks initiative. We are talking about generating internal revenue, and they are destroying cannabis plantation. In this era of dwindling petrodollars, marijuana can become a primary forex earner. Rather than ban it, the government should seek a means to regulate it.
In these challenging times, weed is one of the few things that make people happy. We are not better than the US, Canada, or the Netherlands that control weed consumption. A plant that is useful in many industries including textile, energy, and medicine.

We are literally burning billions of dollars all in the name of forming sanctimonious in this fantastically corrupt country.

Nothing else to say bros. You nailed it. cool

Any produce which we have an advantage of growing and has a high foreign demand.
Not like marijuana that anyone can grow in their backyard and had already seen billions
of dollars in investment in the countries some people are hoping to export to.

Ideally, we should shy away from exporting commodities whenever possible and move towards finished goods.

Finished goods like what? I feel developed nations wouldn't want to buy finished goods from us. The recent case is the action of the German Navy that purchase our boat , not for use, but for the Chadian forces as a good gesture.

What do I have to say now, okay so what did they later do to the man? Since the plant is illegal to cultivate in Nigeria he shouldn't have started it in the first place, there are other cool business one can still do..

Weed wey most countries don dey legalise grin

Why can't the FG legalise weed, but makes it so expensive.
The one that is been sold for #100, can be sold for #200, then #100 belongs to the government while #100 belongs to the seller grin

While the selle go go blow the blunt at home cool

Was the guy growing medical Grade marijuana? Don’t we have enough lazy people in Kogi state without making things worse by enabling the use of Igbo? There is nothing else to farm abi? Have you been to Kogi state? Have you seen how undeveloped the state is?

Eyin-Ogbe, Owo, Ondo State has always been weed industrial hub. That's why Aketi, from that LGA wants to legalize and turn it to biz.

Germany doesn't need our boats because they have other sources and standards.
If Nigeria had no boats, the German money would have gone elsewhere.

Most boats operating in Nigeria were sourced from abroad.
Nigeria seems to like to sell things it won't use itself.

Most people don't choose to buy finished goods, they do it out of necessity.
USA don't buy chinese goods because they love China or the products are superior,
they do it out of economic interests.

This is why we need visionary leaders who can act in imperfect conditions.
Exporting should not even be our priority, how do we displace basic foreign goods based on
economics and not bans.

The labour laws in America, Canada and Western Europe favour employees so these American Capitalists push their factories to China where they produce at a cheaper rate and maximize more profit. In that case it is American companies in China exporting AMERICAN goods produced in China.

I think the bulk of native Chinese exports to the Developed world are low-end technological products. That means China is most likely going to export nuts and bolts used by Tesla than exporting electric cars to America. Their high-end tech products are welcomed in Asia , Africa, South America and the islands of North America.

I agree with you that we have steel and other mineral resources we should produce with our cheap Labour to rival the Giants from South Eastern Asia if our government is willing to invest more in energy and human capital development. With a looming economic cold war between the two world powers, Nigeria could be the next destination of top manufacturing factories because we have the cheapest available labour when compared with population density. That , however , may only be possible if we fix our power issue and tackle insecurity.

See what human stupidity is causing, a plant that God in his wisdom gave man for his use and benefit, the same man turn against that lovely gift and start destroying it anywhere they see it growing. This plant is good for all, in 200 years to come the inhabitant of this Earth will look back and laugh at our present day ignorance.

I am yet to see which part of the two major religion has it in their text (Books) that God said human should not use Marijuana. No religion leader has ever come out to kick against the ban of marijuana cos it the context of religion it's unbilical or unkoranic to ban herbs that God put on Earth for humanity use. I don't smoke but I see no justification why tobacco is legal while marijuana is ilegal. For instance I don't take Oziza leaf cos I will end up having running stomach for more than 3days but that doesn't make it totally bad for consumption.
