By people around you, I mean anybody you know, whether they are related by blood to you or not. They may be people you see often physically or those connected to you via the internet. Over-concentration on money has deprived some people of getting other vital assistance from their friends and relatives. Also, some people are discouraged from helping others because they perceive that all the other person wants is money.

Exposed below are eight major forms of assistance you can render to impact on people's lives positively:

1. Advisory Assistance: A piece of advice you give somebody today may change his/her life positively for life.

2. Social/Moral Assistance: E.g., stand by your friends and relatives during their social functions such as naming and wedding ceremonies, ceteris paribus. Also, socially engage your friends and family members who crave love and social development.

3. Motivational Assistance: There is no time we don't have discouraged, depressed or complacent people as friends or relatives. You are there to assist them with your motivational speeches. Use your testimony and other case studies to charge them to success.

4. Career/Professional/Academic Assistance: You may assist people by teaching them what they need to know in their career or linking them with relevant contacts. You may volunteer to tutor students in your area in Maths or English Language just to assist them. They will not forget it and you too will feel happy when you see them excel later.

5. Domestic Assistance (This mostly applies to people who are geographically close): It's not bad if you go visit your friend and you join them to do whatever domestic chores they are doing.

6. Technical Assistance: Help people fix minor technical problems(which you can handle) in their switches and devices. Help them with how to use some apps on their phones. You may even go further by training them on ICT freely or at a discounted rate.

7. Financial Assistance(I know you want to see this in the list): Generously give people money as gifts as you have it. You don't have to break your spine to please anybody when it comes to monetary gifts. Do it according to your ability. Also, lend people money based on your financial power per time.

8. Spiritual Assistance: Sincerely and genuinely pray for and with your people. Let them know that God is the ultimate solution. If they are at a cross-roads that requires a spiritual intervention, lead them to God for solutions.

Thank you.

It's not only money we should expect from people as assistance.

Someone who needs help today may be of help tomorrow. Have this in mind at all times.
