The movie 365 DAYS is an erotic Polish movie. In the movie, a young beautiful woman (Laura) was kidnapped by a macho Italian mafia (Massimo). Massimo says he'll keep Laura as a prisoner for 365 days and within those days, she must fall in love with him. At the beginning of the movie, I was like "Wow! This movie is going to be interesting. Let me see how she escapes from this psycho". Little did I know that this will be the beginning of their "love story". Humph!

I find a lot of things wrong with this story line. This movie promotes sexual violence and abuse against women. This movie portrayed sexual violence to be sexy and a representation of love. Massimo is a very aggressive man who loves to be in control. Even though Massimo promised not to touch Laura without her consent, we can see how he gropes her, caresses her and tells her what he wanted to do with her body and how. I see this as a rape threat but made to look like a profession of love.

Surprisingly, despite refusing his flirtatious advances, Laura started flirting with Massimo and even decided in her heart to stay kidnapped. This is really crazy. Even when she refused to give in, Massimo forcefully chained her to the bed, ordered another lady to give him a Mouth Action right in front of Laura just to "show her what she's missing". Instead of Laura to be traumatized by this, she became jealous and felt aroused. Just imagine !

Since Massimo is a rich guy, he's ready to spend more than enough for Laura and we can see how Laura is always eager to wear sexy dresses and make up her face just to look good for her kidnapper. This is more like portraying women as sex dolls and creatures who can also be easily swayed by material things and comfort even in excruciating moments. She eventually agreed to have sex with him after he "saved" her from drowning. Those sex scenes are too explicit! It's can as well be scenes pulled out from porn movies. Less than 40 days in captivity, Laura fell in love with Massimo. They got engaged, she got pregnant and they began their wedding plan. I just can't connect the dots.

According to Wikipedia, "Stockholm Syndrome is a psychological response. It occurs when hostages or abuse victims bond with their captors or abusers. This psychological connection develops over the course of the days, weeks, months, or even years of captivity or abuse". This is always as a result of fear or trauma but the movie 365 DAYS portrayed Stockholm syndrome in the good light. Like it's a good thing that should be encouraged.

What's your own opinion about the movie, 365 DAYS ? Love story or not?

And then she died...... Maybe a little bit of obsession and cockinesss on Massimo's side giving the fact that he could get any woman he wanted. Moreover, we would never know if the explicit sex scene was real or simulated
