Bassamati Rice is gaining popularity in recent times in Nigerian despite the cost compared to long grain rice.

Also I noticed the last time I visited, the rice is sold in supermarkets without fear of customs officers or govt agents.

This prompted this post. I believe it should not be banned since Nigerian farmers are yet to venture into the production of Bassamati Rice.

Can somebody clear my doubts by answering my question.
