A WOMAN'S WORTH

She had ruby
Worn around her neck
Feet are pure beauty
Adorned with bands of gems
She's clothed with linen
Tacked from the cotton of Eden
Adams heart was barren
Until she came and his life began counting
Every king brings to her door
Baskets full of treasures
Of course she takes them
Yet she's worth more than the gifts they've brought
A king does value his throne
A true king, values his queen

Her worth once was literally priceless
Until she gave it up
In exchange for worthlessness
Every lyric disrespects her
Rhythms body-shames her
Melodies no more satisfy her
Only few music acknowledge her honour

Enough of being stereotypic
There are women of great worth
I have one worth more than the world
This isn't ironic

Kings bring to her door
Baskets full of treasures
But then I've given none
Except a heart loving without measure
A king once took his throne to her
Yet to this man who has none to offer
She calls her true king
Her worth is beyond materialism
Though she wants it
But a love so true and purely given
That's the one thing
Close to every woman's worth
