I've had various encounters with people who took the wrong turn when it comes to branding their respective business and I've heard them lament about what their naivity has caused them. someone told me he doesn't know the formats to request for a Logo designed for him. Another doesn't know what a brand style guide is...

so I thought I'll create a thread where you can ask questions about anything pertaining to your brand.
you can ask questions about the efficiency of your brand identity or Logo, your brand positioning and anything. I'll be willing to answer.

Logo directions.
Should you allow your Logo Designer dictate your design direction?

In our everyday life we come across various people totally different in personalities. Some people naturally want to take control of situations, projects etc, which is very okay. But when it comes to your logo design it's best you work closely with your Designer rather than try to dictate ideas...there should be a concensus.

Taking Le Choix Brand design for example. I teased the client after receiving the brief and asked if he had a design direction in mind. He did, but couldn't make it out when he read his brief again. He subconsciously expanded his brief description that his initial idea couldn't work again.

That's why he has me...lol.

Do you still think you'll want your idea to overcome that of your Designer or you'll be very open to his/her/ideas?
