Please you made a point but it is not well presented. Some Rivers state 'indigenes' are easily deceived and they love to be deceived, so they will keep living in deception. You can be a governor in Rivers state and do nothing for 8 years the youths will still sing praises and carry banners on your behalf. The indigenes don't want anybody that will bring development, rather they want someone that will share the monthly allocation to them so they can spend it instantly. They can't even give account of their expenses. Rivers state currently is a case of: 'Don't work my road and don't give me light, just give me the money'.

Rivers state is no where and will never be anywhere near Lagos state. It's not even an argument. Obviously it's an argument to only those that live in deception and love to be deceived.

Gov. Wike of Rivers State does not mince words. If he says he is going to carry out a project, be rest assured, he will do it. He will even visit the sites to ensure that the work is going on as expected. If the guy says he will not do a project, it is difficult, if not impossible to lure him into doing that project. The project that readily comes to mind is the Amaechi's mono rail project, which Gov. Wike and a lot of Port Harcourt people see as a useless and less thought out project.

IT is the industry of the future infact of the current world!! It's potentials are limitless. Africa is still behind and when it comes to tech in Nigeria, Lagos isn't reasonably far ahead. Any state that agressively invest in tech for at least 10yrs can easily become a tech hub for Nigeria and Africa. Steadily it becomes a magnet for young people, tax revenue begins to increase, unemployment will reduce and from there more sophisticated tech industry emerges like bio tech, robotics etc
Just imagine a state like Rivers/Delta with two tech hubs in each lga and maybe double that in major cities.summer tech bootcamps for students within those states. Create an avenue for seed investors to meet actual young techies.
But if any state is likely to do it, it's going to be Lagos and it would have been nice for another state to have a very strong competitive advantage especially over Lagos especially as population is crazy here. But all these are wishful thinking, our politicians don't understand the economics of governance na only stealing and building flyovers after all flyover is like the maglev train to Nigerians

he is just focusing on phalga only, what of other places like oyigbo, bori, etche, Igbo etche, umuegbulen everyone can't stay in the capital, its overcrowded.

or the refusal of providing basic necessities for schools and forcing the principals with their monthly salaries which isn't enough for his family to carter for the day to day running of the school?

the said jamb form he later denied along the line was a total scam, he even denied saying so in radio station.

Gov Wike has done so well in massive infrastructural developments. The entire state is a construction site, that's a big employment industry for the youths of the state. There was a time people were walking in PORT HARCOURT with their hands raised up, that was during the last administration, but it's now history. Wike has transformed Rivers state.

when he came into power, his slogan was "Operation Zero Pot-Hole" 5years have passed he is still building roads and flyovers and nothing else. mind you, there are 24 LGAs in Rivers state, majority in fact 90% of these projects are only in Ikwerre LGAs where he's from.

Education = 0
Security = 0

His brother may have been criticised for his fight against Goodluck Jonathan, but Amaechi Touched every sector of the economy and scored more than 100% in education such that Port Harcourt became Book Capital of the World, since Wike came, education has got "about-turn" back to 0.

Education is the key to a better society and Wike either doesnt know or doesn't care about that.

If it is true about what u said, then what u also don't understand is simply that building needed infrastructures today will create the jobs needed for tomorrow... obviously, u can't attend to both at the same time. That is why Gov. Wike has chosen infrastructure over job creation as you say...

Engage in menial job you mean? While the syringe factory built by Amaechi that could manufacture syringes, hand gloves and what have you was shut down by Wike. The banana plantation that was started by Amaechi, he personally sent his boys to put it on fire. The Sorgha and Buguma fish farm are all shut down courtesy of Wike.

Human Development Index isn't judge on the basis of the quality of road but by the quality of life of the people. Rivers State youths need sustainable job. we have many factories laying prostrate because we have a Governor who is only fixated on road construction. Meanwhile I have been working for the RSG for close to 12years without being promoted. My contemporaries in other states are on level 12.
