I wonder how the singles living in the ghettos still enjoy romance with the indignities of unhygienic living conditions. Does poverty discourage from dating singles from the middle and upper classes? I know the cases of those who are ashamed to tell babes and guys where they reside. And when you visit, you cannot use their toilet. I came from a poor family, but the awesome living conditions of the poorer and poorest families break my heart. That is why charity is my first love.

I think there definitely is a divide from reports i've heard of Nigerians in SA.
A friend of my husbands was telling me that if a poor looking someone she will asking id he doesn't know his shoe size or something,
I actually decide within me that this is one of the reasons that Nigerians are so driven, they are extremely competitive to the point where what validates you as a human being are your achievements.
I mean it is incredibly fascinating to me that a Nigerian will rather choose suffering in a foreign land than returning home empty handed because of fear of shame. I've come across a number of these cases and it astonishes me. In my mind it's better to be poor in your own country that be so in a foreign land where people see you as less than a dog. Perhaps I have it all wrong, these are just the observations of an outsider.
