There is a difference here and this is not hypocrisy.

You can see the Yorubas in Kwara/Kogi are the one making effort to join those in the SW based on their own discretion and NOT that the Yorubas in the SW are the one constantly telling them to join by fire by force or laying claim that we own them.

Most of the minorities in the SS haven’t taken this kind of approach and it is mostly Igbos that always speak for them by telling them they are automatically part of their Biafra which some of them have continue to deny.

I hope you can reflect and understand this simple scenario I painted.
we are saying the same thing, if you go through my post you will notice that I am in agreement with the yorubas in Kogi & kwara state on their request to be part of the south west, but the issue I raised concerning some set of people who will go as far as condemning the igboman when such is done from their own end, I am an advocate of justice for all, the hatred exhibited by igbo speaking tribes within the Niger delta region against their brothers from the east is based on the lies and fallacies carried by the same people that are willing to accept a certain people as their own, for example their is a media gang up against the fulanis in nigeria , most of the stories are exaggerated, no Nigerian will like to be referred to as fulani man that is the same fit igboman has suffered.the west cannot be exonerated from all the propaganda against igboman in Nigeria. I just hope u understand where I am coming from.

I understand you clearly but we all have the part of the blame to be shared. Even the Igbos cannot be exonerated from propaganda against the Yorubas and you can clearly see that evidently on the internet these days. If they are not trying to divide the Yorubas along religious line today tomorrow they will be defaming Yoruba leaders like Awo and etc.

One thing I want you to know is that no amount of propaganda can make people with strong blood ties with you to denounce you. So the Igbo minority tribes within the SS should naturally see no reason not to push something like this and tell the whole world that they want to join the Igbos in the SE wholeheartedly.

I think the issue here is still the crude oil and the African mentality. They might be like what will happen to us if we join the SE? Will we still be able to have control over our oil or there will be segregation among us such that the Igbos in the SE might say we are going to control your oil or we are more Igbo than you. Also, they might think they will make more if their small population control their oil rather Hahn big population making use of it.

Kwara/Kogi want to join the SW because they know they will benefit more joining the west as against remaining in the North. If they had crude oil, they may also show the same symptoms of the minority in the SS.

I like looking at situation from a different perspective and you shouldn’t rule out the effect of these simple things.

You’re right.

You will be surprised this ethic behavior is not exclusive to Nigeria alone but a problem of most Africa continent.

Even if you divide Nigeria into Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, and Minorities tribe taking up individual countries based on their ethnicities, they will still come up with something to divide themselves.

Some might be religion, some might be clans, they just sha divide themselves.

Whilst it is nobody’s business if a group of people choose to identify with their larger clan instead of being with strange bed fellows, it is noteworthy that the minority clans are the ones striving to integrate with the larger Yoruba clan, whilst it is the larger Igbo clan that keeps trying to force the minority Igbo clans to join them.

The bottom line is that no group of people should be forced to remain or join any other group of people, especially if they disagree as is the case mostly with the Igbo clan and their minority relatives. That is the whole difference here, hence no case of hypocrisy at all.

You wrote trash here. Ralph Uwechue was an Asaba man, yet he shouted it to high heavens when he was alive that his Anioma people (Delta Igbo) are Igbos.

Nzeogwu hailed from Okpanam in Delta State, yet the coup he spearheaded was and is still called an Igbo coup. When Ibe Kachukwu was the minister of state for petroleum, both the Yoruba and the Hausa-Fulani said that they didn't understand why Igbos said that they were marginalized, because even Ibe Kachukwu and Godwin Emefiele are Igbo men.

Paul Dike was appointed the Chief of Defence Staff; Igbos complained that they were neglected in the military hierarchy, yet you people asked Igbos if Paul Dike was a Westerner or a Northerner. Igbos said that although he's Igbo as you people said, however, he's from the South South.

Also, when Mike Okiro was appointed the IG of Police, Igbos preferred Ogbonna Onovo from the South East, but both Yorubas and Northerners said that Okiro was also an Igbo man from Rivers State, and that Igbos were not neglected.

Moreover, whenever there's a social conflict in the North, it's the so called Anioma and Ikwerre people that claimed that they're not Igbos (due to Nigeria-Biafra war), will be the first to run to Igbo-dominated areas, and then begin to speak Igbo by force.

Even Amaechi spoke in Igbo that he's a core Igboman during Buhari's presidential campaign in Aba.

Ralph Uwechue from Asaba that I mentioned earlier was a former president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo. So, to you, these are not evidences that they identified with Igbos, their kinsmen?

On the contrary, when Igbos said that their kinsmen in the South South are Igbos, Yorubas and Hausa-Fulani arose and said that it's not by force for them to accept that they're Igbos.

Now, Yorubas of Kogi and Kwara States said that they want to reunite with the Yorubas of the SW, and you people welcomed the idea. If you don't see Hypocrisy in this, then there's definitely something wrong with your reasoning.

brother most of us knows all this, but a system that needs restructuring is decaying and those who have the power to make a genuine change has continued to promote divisions among us, the people are left nothing but hope which has no direction. I believe is as a result of failure of leadership that has made most people continued to support divisions.

What a hillarious post!!!

You need to understand the concept of ethnic politics before writing like a dementia patient.

During the 60's and 70's, Igbo speaking ethnic groups located in the Niger Delta were keen on still remaining with the Igbos of the hinterland(Isuama),even after the war,the likes of Obi Wali wanted Ikwerre to be part of the proposed Imo state, but the Igbos of the hinterland who are known to be very proud didn't take him serious, same with Delta Igbos, and now that we are the goose that lays the golden egg you want us to say we are Igbo and join the South East..You must be funny!..We are okay where we are, because we know your agendas,it's better we continue developing Port Harcourt and Ali Ikwerre in general than join South East to be used and dumped later..After all even in Iboland, there are fake and real Igbos, and we don't want to be part of such quagmire..We are Ikwerres...Proudly Iwuruonha
chai, there was never a time obi wali wanted ikwerre to merged with IMO state , he only long or agitated for porthartcourt state because the ijaws was dominating the uplands then.. Zik assisted one ikwerre lawyer and obi wali to connected to ukiwe(2nd in command after babagida) to help the uplands get their state but finally they draw the map of bayelsa and table it to abacha hence the creation of bayelsa state, the new Jerusalem of ijaws and peter odili came in 1999 to served as the first democratic elected governor and also put a stopped to uplands/riverine dichotomy which is affecting the riversijaw now cos the uplands is enjoying the advantage of it. Since 1999, the ijaw said the Igbo speaking is dominating rivers state for two decades now..
Obi wali was an education minister under governor spiff of Rivers state then but was know to always fight for porthercourt state even the governor said so when he died several years ago but if you have link to ur claimed that he wanted rivers to joined IMO state , pls I will love to read it..
Your replied to peoples here that ikwerre is not Igbo reminds me of hopeathand , A username in nairaland, we have discussed, argued and already dusted the matter for so long that's why no one has time now..but is all good, we are one..
