Repent Or Perish by Nobody: 6:27pm On Mar 02, 2011
" Do you think those Galileans were worse sinners than all the other people from Galilee?” Jesus asked. “Is that why they suffered? Not at all! And you will perish, too, unless you repent of your sins and turn to God" - Luke 13:2-3

People tend to think that just because they are not a murderer, or a thief, or an adulterer, that they're not as bad as those who are. But that is definitely not true at all. The truth is, you are just as wicked as the person in jail.

When God looked down from heaven, he saw none righteous, no, not one.

" The Lord looks down from heaven
on the entire human race;
He looks to see if anyone is truly wise,
if anyone seeks God.
But no, all have turned away;
all have become corrupt.[u]
No one does good,
not a single one!" - Psalms 14:2-3

The Lord Jesus said that it is the things that come out of the heart that defile a man. The heart is the only thing that someone can hide any dark secret that they wish. And the heart is the only thing God can see about a person that other people cannot.

"“Don’t you understand yet?” Jesus asked. “Anything you eat passes through the stomach and then goes into the sewer. But the words you speak come from the heart–that’s what defiles you.For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander. These are what defile you. Eating with unwashed hands will never defile you.”
" - Matthew 15:16-20

Jesus said that if you look on a woman to lust after her, you have committed adultery with her in your heart (Matthew 5:28). "Well what if she's not married?" Then you are committing fornication with her in your heart. Sin is still sin. We tend to think in measures. If our sin isn't as big as this person's, then it must not be as bad.

TURN OR BURN
It doesn't matter if you are an atheist, a Muslim, a non-Christian of any kind, Hindu, Buddhist, whatever. It doesn't matter. One day, you will perish, unless you repent. To repent means to turn from your sins and ask the Lord Jesus to forgive you.

Let me show you just how bad you are. Ever slept with someone you weren't married to? The Bible says that is fornication and adultery. Fornication if neither one of you were married. And adultery if at least one of you were married.

"When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God." - Galatians 5:19-21

Don't you realize that because of that one sin you committed, you are not going to heaven? "If that's the case, then the whole world is going to hell!" Yes, it certainly seems that way.

"You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell[i] is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way.But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever " - Matthew 7:13-14

THE TIME IS NOW
If you don't repent, you will perish. I don't say this because God hates you, or because I hate you. That's not the case at all. I think you would find me a very hateful and insensitive individual if you were on fire, and I didn't try to help you put the fire out. You would probably thank me if I at least said to you, "Hey, Sir, your pants are on fire!" And then you'd really think I was a thoughtful person if I ran and threw some water on you to put out the fire.

I think most people sincerely want to go to heaven. If they truly realized the consequences of their sin, everybody would repent. But I think it's because people simply don't know, which is why people go to hell. But if you don't believe me, or other people like me who are trying to tell you these things, how can you be saved?

Muhammed can't save you. Muhammed is dead. And he lived about 600 years after Jesus! Buddha can't save you. He was just some man who claimed to have found enlightment. He's now just some statue. Moses can't save you. And Moses wrote of Jesus, more than a thousand years before Jesus went to the cross! But if you don't believe Moses' writing, how can you believe what Jesus says?

The fact of the matter is, Jesus Christ was really God. If you don't believe me, how can you explain the fact that he arose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and then 2 thousand years later, still has a written record of eyewitnesses who say these things really happened! They didn't just say these things happened, and then whenever someone threatened them, they shut up. No. They sealed their witness with their own blood! Even when they had the opportunity offered to them to save their own lives by renouncing the things they believed. And how can you explain the miracles that are still done today in Jesus' name? Things like casting out devils in the name of Jesus. Healing in the name of Jesus. How can you explain these things? You can't. Yes, you may try, but your error will lead you to believe a lie.

"For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were EYEWITNESSES of his majesty." - 2 Peter 1:16

Friend, you are playing with fire by delaying. If don't repent today, whose to say that you'll live to see tomorrow?

"Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth." - Proverbs 27:1

CONCLUSION
Salvation from hell and from your sin is easy. Just honestly pray to the Lord Jesus. Say something like this to him, "Lord Jesus, please forgive me of all my sins. Please save me." And if you really mean that, and don't hold back your sins of pornography, or sins of fornication, adultery, or whatever, then God will truly save you! How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation?

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." - Romans 10:13
"(Jesus Christ), Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." - Acts 4:12

Nice post.
Something just struck me. I know of two other passaged where Romans 10:13 is used, Joel 2:32 and Acts 2:21.
From that, I can only gather that whosoever calls on the name Yahweh will be saved. Usually where you see Lord in the bible, the original text will say YHWH - pronounced today as Yahweh.
Of course, that does not take anything away from your post at all, there is power in the name of Yahshua.
John 14:13 "And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son."

That was the time he read the bible and took it as written without given it an interpretation outside the scope of what is written. Today, na so so interpretations everywhere. Even simple statements of the bible are also interpreted. This is why Christianity is in confusion. Everybody is busy interpreting. Everybody is exhibiting his bible knowledge dexterity. Agreed, there is need to explain some biblical portions by bringing it closer to what is happening on ground concerning the verse you are treating. But when you begin to go beyond the scope of what is in the scripture, you begin to misapply scriptures here and there to suit your selfish interest rather than presenting the word of God , at that point there is danger. His messages back in the days carried anointing that puts the reader in a moment of sober reflection whereas most of the current ones tilt towards bible knowledge exhibition which is tantamount little or no gain spiritually. Honestly all these are part of the problem Christianity is facing. Worst still, when someone begins to manipulate the scriptures and call it being wiser, then there is real danger.

The pastor who convinces his church members to withdraw all the money in their account to sow a seed in the church does that by interpreting the scriptures.
The one who convinces members to buy so called holy and anointed materials(usually sold at exorbitant prices) does that by interpreting the scriptures.
Most of the abnormal traditions and practices that are going on in Christendom today were introduced with scriptures via misinterpretations.
I still advocate that in this last days, we all should learn to read the bible and hold on to it so that as the teacher is teaching, your marking scheme becomes the scripture and when you find him misapplying the scripture for selfish purpose either by imposing a particular tradition which contradicts the scripture or whatsoever you ll be able to wave it aside.
What seems to be happening these days is that we read the bible, while the pastor's interpretation becomes the marking scheme of what we have read. Should it be so? No.
We know that there are some children of God living in countries where Christianity suffers great persecution, they read the bible in their hidden corner and abide by what they have read and God has been helping them. i tell you, they are not witnessing the magnitude of confusion we are witnessing. I am not saying people should not teach the word or explain things in the bible. what am saying is that the bible must be our marking scheme to whatever that is being taught and not what is being taught that should be our marking scheme for what is in the scriptures.

Yes, they were real experiences, the later I discarded as nonsense, the former lines up with the bible on the second coming.

Mind you, I did not see Jesus, was not given a message for you or others, went on no tour of heaven or hell etc.

I simply saw the coming of Christ at the end of this age.

Mind you, I did not see Jesus, was not given a message for you or others, went on no tour of heaven or hell etc.

I simply saw the coming of Christ at the end of this age.

Hahahaha......an experience you had when you were newly saved and your annointing fresh is now not to be seen in a good light because it contradicts your new believe? May God help you o. The effort you have been making to cancel your old believe puts your new believe in question. This your new believe is like a lie that requires many more lies to keep it covered from shame. Simple and plain statements that Jesus made about hell is what has taken you into all this condemnation of your past teachings and visions, defining hell as grave at first, then a place of refuse of recent. Running from old testament to new testament and gathering scriptures anyhow to support your claims, branding the teachings of hell stanic, demonic, wicked, gospel of fear and all sorts of things, just to convince us of your new stand? Obviously it is those who sell fake product that makes so much effort such as this to convince buyers. Just like non performing Governors who make so much effort/noise in the media to make people believe they are working when there is really nothing on ground. Our stand remains on what Jesus said about hell, no addition and no susbtraction. The way Jesus said it is very self explantory and acceptable to us exactly as he said it(I mean without any other interpretation). Those who wants to follow your interpretations can go ahead at their own risk(because you won't be allowed to defend them at the judgment throne). At the end of the day, we all will be judged with the words of Jesus and not your interpretations. Its not about you and your scriptural manipulation skill, its all about Jesus. Thanks.

I have had my fair share of listening to false doctrines from my early days as a Christian, it is no mean feat to be where I am today.

Mark 9:43-49, Matthew 5:22,29-30. Matthew 18:9. Luke 12:5, Luke 16:19-31. I wonder what makes the above quoted scriptures false if not your personal interpretations. For us, we accept it wholeheartedly as written(without any interpretation). Your views are only for you and remains irrelevant. Your interpretations can never be a marking scheme to what the scripture said. It is what the scripture says that matters.
