From the time I was in Primary School up until today, my dad goes to food market and cooked /cooks every meal in my house. Prior to that, my mum was the family chef. But my dad loves food shopping, he loves the kitchen, he does it happily and we love him for that He cooks for everybody and will even ask for personal preferences. Lol

The day my in-laws came to our house, my dad was busying happily in the kitchen, my mum was gisting with my mum-in-law and my dad-in-law was watching TV till food was ready I matched in and served the food, my in-laws were surprised.

Personally, I like that my sweetie cooks for survival only and he is not a very kitchen-y person. I am good at kitchen patrol so he can confortably leave that to me

For yada-yada pipu, my dad is a practicing Civil Engineer, worked as a high ranking civil servant until he retired to practice on his own. My parents are happily married 38 years this year

I too was raised in a traditional family where cooking is believed to be woman's exclusive.l grew with that mentality till I finished secondary School as a day student

But I later learnt the hard way when I was alone in the University ,NYSC,and thereafter.

Knowing how to cook is a big advantage to man.

Well, I have seen enough to know that some women are turned off by men who can cook. Whether is it due to lose of 'relevance', 'leverage' or that the man is too 'effeminate' or just 'dislike', it is hard to tell.

1. A relative had that issue with his wife still he had to stop 'entering' the kitchen;
2. Another forbids her husband from 'entering the kitchen'; her joy is to 'serve him and watch him while he eats.'

A number of women also have issues with husbands who go to the market often with them or alone.
