A powerful movement for the actualization of Igbo Presidency come 2023 gets underway as it was launched today at Awka, the State capital of Anambra State.

The epoch making summit had in attendance respected individuals of Igbo extraction, such as Sen. Ben Ndi Obi (Ojelugbo), Comr. Ebitu Ukiwe, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife, Iyom Josephine Anenih, and many others in attendance.

The mandate was simple and that is to brainstorm on the way forward towards actualizing a President of Nigeria from the Igbo extraction come 2023.

In his opening remarks, Sen Ben Ndi Obi, CON, justifying the call for Igbo Presidency, went down memory lane;
"the last time an Igbo man ruled this country was in the short-lived military regime of late Gen. Aguiyi Ironsi, which lasted for 194 days only, and if I am correct, this was like 54 years ago, and Nigeria turned 60 years penultimate Thursday".

"21 years after return to civil rule; this therefore makes the clamor for an Igbo man to be President of this country not only a deservedly call, but one premised on the prism of justice, equity, fairness and inclusiveness", he enthused.

Concluding he said, "for Ndigbo to successfully prosecute the journey to Aso Rock, they must consciously pursue four cardinal things, which are; Bridge across the Zones, reaching out to political parties, Mobilizing Ndigbo to be on the same page and consulting with major stakeholders across the zones".

Amb. Kema Chikwe, on her own part stated that the 2023 Igbo presidency is a laudable and justified quest, but to achieve that a survey and appraisal of the Igbos as a nation must be done by the Igbos themselves.

"While our country Nigeria gets prepared for the 2023 presidential election, it becomes fair and proper for the other ethnic major tribes in Nigeria to see the 2023 Igbo presidency as a worthy cause in the Spirit of Justice, equity and fair play" she stated.

"The Igbos must de-emphasize selfishness in this pursuit but must come together in unity of purpose, when this is achieved then they can initiate persuasive dialogues with other parts of our country Nigeria to convince them on the need for the Igbo presidency allaying any kind of fears harbored by tribal sentiments".

It was the same spirited speech from the President General of Ohanaze Ndigbo in UK, Dr Nnanna Igwe, a lecturer at the Imperial College London. Dr Igwe who bemoaned the flawed amalgamation of the country, noted that the dream of the founding fathers has not been achieved.

He however said that giving Igbo a chance, will bring Nigeria to greatness again.

Speakers upon speakers, all took turn to speak and the message was clear and that is the need to commence wide range consultation with all stakeholders from the zones, and living no stone unturned in pursuit of Igbo Presidency come 2023.

The convener of the Global Movement For Igbo President 2023, GLOMIP2023, Comr Kennedy Iyere, speaking at the summit said the Igbo Presidency dream is a global movement and nothing is stopping it.

Reawakening the 'i-can-do' spirit of the audience at the auditorium, Comr Iyere emphatically stated that the movement needs people who will support the course, live for it and if need be, die for it.

With the involvement and support of UK, EU and other foreign interest, Comr Kennedy Iyere said what will make the Igbo Presidency possible goes beyond the Igbo nation.

"It is going to be global. We are going to the UK, EU Congress to talk. An Igbo man can transform this country" he stated.

Other in attendance include, Chief Gary Enwo-Igariwey, Amb George A. Obiozor, and Dr Tanko Yinusa.

Highpoint of the summit was the unveiling of Global Movement For Igbo President 2023.

This is a move even though I am not yet convinced to consider it as a good move.

The Igbos ruling Nigeria will only give them an opportunity to leave behind a bad record, a blueprint of sheer incompetence and an unworthy legacy just like every other divers leaders that hailed from a different tribe. Irrespective of tribe, there's little you can do if you happen to become Nigeria's president. You'll still go to faraway North to do the bidding of the British cabal.

There's a saying that people will consider you wise if you doesn't open your mouth to make utterances. Everyone will assume that you're wise and intelligent. The moment you talk and speak below expectations, they'll regret ever believing in you in the first place. There was a time people were saying that Nigeria would have been great haven't been they allow Buhari to become the president. We finally gave him a chance and he made us traveled back in time on a one chance bus.

The system is already rigged against us. How can we fight such a system that has already been rigged against us? I am a realist and I am sorry to announce to you that this present Nigeria cannot work nor function effectively. Being stagnant is more of a good news. Going backwards in light years is just the height of it.

The Igbos should remain determined towards the actualization of their Biafra. I am not from the Sou but even a fool knows that we only have one way out of this mess because Nigeria is like a tunnel with just two ends. Breaking apart is the only solution to Nigeria's problem — A reality no one should shy away from. Carefully study world politics and you'll understand that the British created Nigeria for their selfish political gains. It wasn't created to work, and that was deliberate. How can power and resources in the south be handed over to the cabals in the North? This is not hatred, the south can still manage to live together but the amalgamation of the North with the South is just a polygamistic marriage that will never stand the test of time. Two different countries that are supposed to live in isolation. Our thinking and way of life differs. The day you're all done deceiving yourselves is the day you'll all go your separate ways.

This journey is getting set back from children of hate like those keyboard warriors on nairaland, who hates everyone and still trying to remain relevance. They're confuse between secession and Presidency but it's obvious that separating from mighty naija is extremely difficult as such they should use political tactics and win back people. Even if we're not together as a nation we'll still stay as neighbours; I know we'll not live like NK & SK.
They need to work hard because Igbos are politically primitive. All those threats and propaganda are not choice for concrete, achievable objectives because Nigeria & Nigerians are too strong for mere threats.
2023 will be difficult for Igbos they should use it to to rebrand their image on the eyes of Nigerians, extend friendly hand to others and strategize against 2027 or 2030.
