This diary is about a mini cucumber farm in my work place. I am an agricultural science teacher in a school and this all about our cucumber farm

The students brought loamy soil to the school in sacks and we mixed it together with compost manure and ready for planting.

This is our soil and staking was done last week friday.i looked for the cucumber seed all over ayobo to agege but i did not see the seed. But finally i ordered for it online and it is possible we get our seed today....this is our soil with the staking.

Finally, i got the seed from jumia and it was delivered today. The students are very happy and will plant their cucumber tomorrow morning. We have our fungicide and liquid fertilizer available to apply weekly after emergence of the shoot.

I want my bosses in the farming of cucumber to please help us along the way. Criticism is allowed and also we are ready to take heed to all instructions.

Is your manure wet or dry?
You can do Basal application (mature at the point of planting) to help save wastage
After applying your mature,water it so it can decompose a little into the soil,it'll be like a sweet seasoning
Then wait a bit for your Eba to done,pour your soil on it and plant on Saturday evening
Irrigate well
But if you meant you applied your manure last week Friday then sure you can plant tomorrow

Nice project. Ur staking will give problem in the future. Use 1 stake for 2 rows and leave enof space between rows.

During spray of pesticides, the students shud not be allowed to come close until the next day. They shud wash there hands thoroughly after handling sprayed plants.

Instead of you using four rows of bags on one stake, reduce it to two rows per stake. That is one row on each side of the bamble stake.

I noticed some powder on the leaves of the plants and after some consultation, i discovered that it is the spore of the fungus that cause the powdery mildew. This project is based on organic farming, so we are going to apply sodium bicarbonate [baking soda] mixed with enough water to the plants to kill the fungus and eradicate the spores

If u can get neem oil, it will be better. It is both an insecticide and fungicide.

I don't use it now, but I hope buying from Contec Agro in Delta state. They sell organic pesticides. Their Neemsol cost N5500/L. There are some sellers here on NL, but I have not tried them.
