The Nationwide protests calling for the banning of SARS is being misunderstood by many to mean that we as a people condone criminal elements in our midst.
There is no doubt that our society will be in utter chaos if security operatives are absent. But as it stands today, the current crop of officials who constitute SARS often act as if they are the law themselves. It is the barbarism and utter disregard for human dignity that must be checked.
The form of SARS that must be banned should include the following:
* A brutal SARS had no place in modern society.
* Undue harassment of citizens by virtue of how they look or wear must stop.
* Forcefully invading our privacy by going thru our phones and account details must end.
* Illegal extortion of money from us in whatever guise must end.
* Illegal arrests must end.
THE SARS WE NEED
#A SARS that is professional and does thing using international best standards.
#A SARS that shows due regard to the citizens.
# A SARS that adheres to due process in carrying out their operations.
# A SARS that embarks on thorough investigations before making arrests. They should from the process that eventually lead to the arrest of Hushpuppy.
# We need a responsible SARS. One that protects the victim and arrest the real criminal.
