Hundreds of homes and unquantifiable property have been destroyed by surging flood in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The following communities have been submerged already; Ukpeliede, Okogbe, Ogbologbolo, Ula Okobo, Akinima, Mbiama, Olokuma, Eleuma, Ikodu-Ekpeye, Odiereke Ubie, Oshie, Odiopiti, Odieke Ugbobi, Odhiogbor, Oshika, Emezi, Oyigba, Ubeta, Ihuechi, Ombor, Oshiobele, Owube, Ikodi Engenni, Okarki, Ogbede, and Ogoda.

The residents are calling on Federal Government and Rivers State Government to, as a matter of urgency, come to their aid and save the area from extinction by the surging flood which has turned to an annual occurrence.
