The iPhone 12, Apple's long awaited device was launched yesterday with new design, hardware and software upgrades. This thread was created to bisect the specifications of the the iPhone 12 series and compare it to last year's iPhone 11 series.
The major question on people's lips (especially Nigerians) is if the iPhone 12 is a worthy upgrade. Now lets break down the specs here and also compare it with other 2020 flagships from the Android corner.

1) PROCESSOR:
iPhone 12 comes with a new A14 bionic processor which is faster, has better CPU and GPU and more efficient (5nm) than the A13 bionic used in the iPhone 11. The new A13 bionic processor used in the iPhone 11 had better CPU and GPU than the Snapdragon 865 used in most Android flagship smartphones of 2020 like the Samsung s20 series, the Huawei P40, Oneplus etc. This clearly shows that when it comes to processing speed and performance, the iPhone 11 and Android devices of 2020 stand no chance against the iPhone 12 with the A14 bionic.

2) Screen Display and Resolution:
The iPhone 12 pro max comes with a larger screen of 6.7 inches and a better screen resolution of 1284 x 2778 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio (~458 ppi density) and ~87.4% screen-to-body ratio. For people who like big screens, this one is good for you. Every other spec excluding the ones listed above are the same with those of the 11 pro max. Other flagships from the Android corner like the Samsung s20 ultra and lg v50 have better screen resolution and pixel densities (over 530ppi).

3) Memory:
iPhone 12 series have brought the biggest ram ever inbuilt in an iPhone with 6gb of ram and several ROM variants similar to those of the iPhone 11.
iOS apps are fully optimised to work with the operating system and the the processors of iPhone which give the user a brilliant experience while using the device like fast opening of apps, excellent RAM management etc, now imagine how great the experience will be with 6gb of RAM.

4) Camera:
The iPhone 12 pro max comes with a better camera hardware than its predecessor. They both have 12mp sensors but, the iPhone 12's sensor has a better aperture of f1.6 compared to f1.8 in it's predecessor which will improve the brightness of pictures in low light conditions. The sensor is also bigger and has higher microns of 1.7um which will produce much better, sharper and detailed shots in all conditions (daylight and low light conditions). As for the camera section, the iPhone 12 might be at par with other flagships from the Android corner but, it's a much better improvement from the iPhone 11 series. It has the same ultrawide sensor with the 11 pro max and a slightly better telephoto sensor with 2.5x zoom. The selfie cam is also the same sensor used in the iPhone 11 pro max and can take 4k videos at 60fps.
For those who may like to compare the camera to other flagships, judging from the hardware side, the likes of Huawei P40, P30, Samsung S20 ultra, Xiaomi mi 10 pro etc might weep the ass of the iPhone especially the Samsung s20 ultra which is capable of an astonishing zoom capacity and 8k video recording but, lets not judge now cause iPhone's software is always a game changer that's why iPhone devices with just 12mp can compete favourably with the Android devices of over 40mp.

5) Now to the main feature that sets this phone a mile apart from the iPhone 11 pro max, the Almighty 5g network. The average iPhone 11 user who is reluctant about getting the new iPhone 12 might feel the 5g network feature isn't a big deal but, I'll be very honest with you, it's not just a big deal, it's a mega deal. 5g network is about 100x the speed of 4g. A speed test was carried out in the US between a flagship 4g smartphone and the 2020 lg v50 5g both connected to the same Verizon network. Play store was opened and the test was see the speed at which both phones would download the upgraded PUBG new erangel of 1.7gb. When the download button was clicked, it took the Lg v50 5g about 1 minute 30 seconds to download the game of 1.7gb while the 4g smartphone had downloaded less than 7mb out the 1.7gb under the same time. YouTube videos were also tested. It was discovered that it was possible to reach an internet speed of 2.5gb per second. The 5g phone was able to load a 10 hour video of 1080p video resolution in about 5 minutes compared to the 4g phone that kept lagging.
5gb speed is extremely impressive. Do you know that even when 5g becomes overcrowded, it would still be 20x faster than 4g? Just imagine using your iPhone 11 near a person using iPhone 12 and you guys are asked to download a game from the app store, you'll be humiliated that day grin.
For other users who are considering getting a new phone, just calm down and wait till next year to get cheaper 5g devices or better still, get the iPhone 12 mini.
MTN tested the 5g network in Nigeria earlier this year and there is full hope that MTN will be launching 5g officially in Nigeria in 2021 just like they launched it in corners of South Africa this year. Get yourself a 5g phone and you will hate 4g passionately. grin

Hello, the long-awaited release of the new iPhone really interested me. I constantly use new technologies, for example, I got acquainted with free you tube downloader, where I can listen to music absolutely free, and get access to offline music that I have already listened to.
