The hashtag #NASSPayCutNow is gradually getting on the trend table as Nigerians condemn the exorbitant salaries and allowances of members of the National Assembly.

A twitter user with the handle @Morris_Monye have specifically demanded for 75% pay cut of their allowance. The youths have threatened to occupy the National Assembly if they fail to respond under 72 hrs.

He tweeted,

“Dear @DrAhmadLawan and @FemiGbaja
We, the good people of Nigeria kindly ask that allowances of the National Assembly be slashed by 75%.
You have 72 hrs to respond and get it slashed.
Failure to do so might initiate #OccupyNASS
God bless sirs.
#NASSPayCutNow #EndSWAT”

Netizens have expressed their anger and displeasure at the mundane things they get allowances for including newspaper, hardship, recess, etc.

Let me show you all something that is wicked.

See this graphics I attach? The very few people down that chart eats 95% of this country. Those people are aged 55 and above.
The plenty millions are the top, they eat only 0.5% of the cake. They are 25 and below.
Continue hating on #EndSARS. Continue.

Agreed 100%! The momentum of this protest should move outward from #ENDSARS/ENDSWAT to other areas of misgovernance e.g.the humongous NASS budget. They are just heartless.600years of hardship on them for coĺecting "Hardship allowance"

Even with them taking just 10% of their salary, they will still be the highest paid.

Anything more than 5% of that figure is unacceptable. How can you represent me properly when you do not know how hard it is to cough out 30k for a bag of rice?

$2.183m multiplied by 109 (useless) senators, is a whooping $218m annually.

Someone should also publish that of the house of rep members lets calculate aswell.

This protest needs to start immediately.

Nobody should be left out of it.

Our politicians are satanic.

Chei! My children money.

You cannot carry out fundamental change without a certain amount of madness. In this case, it comes from nonconformity, the courage to turn your back on the old formulas, the courage to invent the future. It took the madmen of yesterday for us to be able to act with extreme clarity Today. I want to be one of those madmen. We must dare to invent the future.
While revolutionaries as individuals can be murdered, you cannot kill ideas
We must learn to live the African way. It's the only way to live in freedom and with dignity.
........... Thomas Sankara.........

To all the Upright Men out there.

Go after #PayCutNASS. That is the new madness we need for this country to move forward.
